According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the 49ers, Bears, and Browns are among the teams "hot after" free agent Allen Robinson.
La Canfora adds the Panthers and Ravens also have interest in Robinson, but the salary cap could pose a problem for those clubs. Additionally, the Jaguars haven't closed the door on a return. Robinson is coming off a torn ACL last year but is medically fine and should have no problem landing top dollar. The 49ers and Bears, specifically, could really use Robinson out wide. Both teams have young quarterbacks and imaginative, offensive-minded head coaches. |
Do we expect a lot of interviews to be announced and/or conducted tomorrow?

Cousins will be a Viking tomorrow. If I had to guess....Robinson signs with the 49ers. Same with Trumaine Johnson.

We’re getting so close to the FA period, I can’t put a finger on what we’re going to do at all. There are plenty of needs but the market for these players is so unclear.
- WR - G - DL - ILB - Edge - CB - S - P |
As far as Chiefs are concerned, I think they will pursue Watkins but ultimately will lose out to the Rams as they likely re-sign him.
I would be shocked if we do not add a corner - not sure who though. I think the first guy the Chiefs nab is Lotulelei, apart from maybe some announced re-signings like Nunes-Roches.... |
This was last year on the first day of FA.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kzWD2BME4P4 I bet Schefter already knows where half these guys end up the next 4 days. |

Free agent CB Trumaine Johnson admitted Sunday that he won't be re-signing with the Rams.
In a social media post, Johnson thanked the Rams and his fans. A big hit as a third-round pick in 2012, Johnson appeared in 85-of-96 games in his six years with the team, making 62 starts and picking off 18 passes. The Rams are moving on with Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib at corner, while Johnson will be a hot free agent this week. He's the top corner available and has already been linked to the Jets, 49ers, and Raiders. Johns |

I am curious to see the shaping of the defense however. DL has to be addressed, and the secondary will look a lot different. The draft will play into this as well. Would not be shocked if guys in the middle of rookie deals are moved too: Conley, Morse, Nelson.... |
Is Jabril peppers on the block?
|
I would get ready for a possible overpay for Star Lotulelei. Raiders took Ellis off the market, Pennel will get a great deal from a Jets team with tons of money and we have to get a NT in FA. It’s not really arguable.
Star is the best option. |

NT is by far the hardest position for a rookie to play physically. We need a vet, whether it be Star or someone else. |
Quote:
Could be wrong but that’s the vibe I get there. |
Quote:
I’m fine with a vet. I just wouldn’t pick Star to be that guy. Sign a guy that’s played the position and can rotate with a rookie |
I’d rather bring back Poe than sign Star. Give a young guy time to get coached up and work himself into the position.

Eagles TE Trey Burton has good hands and would be cheap. Nice secondary and red zone target. Andy likes 2 TE sets.

Not going to happen at that price. |

Youre way off base if you think you can get Burton as a #2. |

No. Agree to disagree. Time will tell. |
Josh Sitton is getting older, but can still play. Might be a good stop gap for guard. Always good to have a another veteran presence on the offensive line.
|
LB Tahir Whitehead it's looking for a new team. He says he can play in the 3-4 or the 4-3. Been effective in nickel and dime packages.
|
Sure would love to check my phone later today and find out Veach made an aggressive move or two...
|
Justin Ellis got 3 years $15 million. I’m not paying Star anymore than $5.5 million avg per year.
That’s actually cheap.. |

Could Ben Grubbs still play when we got him? |
Looks like Chiefs are resigning Sherman.

Wow looks like Anthony Sherman is re-signing with the Chiefs yet again. Great blocking fullback. We re-signed Anthony Sherman according to Pardon My Take.

i just dont get it, we hardly ever use him as a lead blocker
|
He's on every special team unit and is pretty vocal. Good leader. That's worth something.
|
Also, If Kirk Cousins gets a fully guaranteed deal, that's not gonna be good for teams that are getting ready to pay elite players.
|
there you go O City, theres your big Chiefs splash, Anthony Sherman. Clarks already back on a plane to Texas, offseason over pack it up.

Dolphins are cutting Suh.

If a guy like Russell Wilson hit the free open market, he'd absolutely crush what Cousins is about to get. |

Plus, Cousins is positioned where after the 3 years he can get another free agent deal at 32.
Dude is playing it perfectly. |
Now Suh is being cut.
|
Dolphins are eating 8 figures of dead cap for two years by cutting Suh.
Damn. |
Quote:
It’s just desperation from teams who don’t want to take a risk in the draft. I’m fine with that, especially when it was Peyton Manning. But Kirk Cousins? Not even sure he’s top 15. |
The cap does in fact matter. These big deals just don't seem to work out that well.

I wonder if Drew Brees hasn’t signed yet bc he knows Cousins is about to **** the market. If Cousins gets a fully gauranteed contract, imagine what Brees could do if he uses that as leverage?
