According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the 49ers, Bears, and Browns are among the teams "hot after" free agent Allen Robinson.

La Canfora adds the Panthers and Ravens also have interest in Robinson, but the salary cap could pose a problem for those clubs. Additionally, the Jaguars haven't closed the door on a return. Robinson is coming off a torn ACL last year but is medically fine and should have no problem landing top dollar. The 49ers and Bears, specifically, could really use Robinson out wide. Both teams have young quarterbacks and imaginative, offensive-minded head coaches.

Do we expect a lot of interviews to be announced and/or conducted tomorrow?

There will be many deals agreed to tomorrow, odds are. The big FAs at least.

Cousins will be a Viking tomorrow. If I had to guess....Robinson signs with the 49ers. Same with Trumaine Johnson.

We’re getting so close to the FA period, I can’t put a finger on what we’re going to do at all. There are plenty of needs but the market for these players is so unclear.

- WR
- G
- DL
- ILB
- Edge
- CB
- S
- P

Chief Northman 03-11-2018 08:26 PM

As far as Chiefs are concerned, I think they will pursue Watkins but ultimately will lose out to the Rams as they likely re-sign him.

I would be shocked if we do not add a corner - not sure who though. I think the first guy the Chiefs nab is Lotulelei, apart from maybe some announced re-signings like Nunes-Roches....

Free agent CB Trumaine Johnson admitted Sunday that he won't be re-signing with the Rams.

In a social media post, Johnson thanked the Rams and his fans. A big hit as a third-round pick in 2012, Johnson appeared in 85-of-96 games in his six years with the team, making 62 starts and picking off 18 passes. The Rams are moving on with Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib at corner, while Johnson will be a hot free agent this week. He's the top corner available and has already been linked to the Jets, 49ers, and Raiders. Johns

Yeah, Richardson seems to fit what I think Veach is looking for to complement Mahomes. He, Robinson and Watkins fit that mold. A mid-tier dark horse could be Moncrief.

I am curious to see the shaping of the defense however. DL has to be addressed, and the secondary will look a lot different. The draft will play into this as well. Would not be shocked if guys in the middle of rookie deals are moved too: Conley, Morse, Nelson....

O.city 03-11-2018 09:39 PM

Is Jabril peppers on the block?

RunKC 03-11-2018 09:41 PM

I would get ready for a possible overpay for Star Lotulelei. Raiders took Ellis off the market, Pennel will get a great deal from a Jets team with tons of money and we have to get a NT in FA. It’s not really arguable.

Star is the best option.

A 2nd-7th rd pick starting at NT day 1 would be a disaster.

NT is by far the hardest position for a rookie to play physically. We need a vet, whether it be Star or someone else.

I actually like Johnson but the thing that has always pulled at my leg when it comes to signing him is that he reminds me of Sean Smith. Knowing that, I’d fear that he’s probably got 1-2 really solid years left, at best.

Could be wrong but that’s the vibe I get there.

Dontari Poe sure was a disaster...oh wait he worked out as a rookie. He was a first round pick but there’s talented guys that can play.

I’m fine with a vet. I just wouldn’t pick Star to be that guy. Sign a guy that’s played the position and can rotate with a rookie

Mother****erJones 03-11-2018 11:20 PM

I’d rather bring back Poe than sign Star. Give a young guy time to get coached up and work himself into the position.

If Star comes in expensive, Poe might very well be Plan B. Star is stout in the run game and I think Veach/Reid we’re sick of seeing the front 7 getting gashed, thus the reported interest in him. But if he commands $7-9 million per, they might look at Poe who should be cheaper and is arguably more versatile. The Chiefs May get a slight discount as reports have stated Poe really wants to be back in KC. Lotulelei is too one dimensional to garner near double digit millions per. Daquon Jones could likely do what Star can for cheaper, though he is not a true NT.

T-post Tom 03-11-2018 11:30 PM

Eagles TE Trey Burton has good hands and would be cheap. Nice secondary and red zone target. Andy likes 2 TE sets.

Josh Sitton is getting older, but can still play. Might be a good stop gap for guard. Always good to have a another veteran presence on the offensive line.

I don’t think underpaid is the right word, as any elite talent that hits the market will be overpaid regardless of position.

It’s just desperation from teams who don’t want to take a risk in the draft. I’m fine with that, especially when it was Peyton Manning. But Kirk Cousins? Not even sure he’s top 15.

O.city 03-12-2018 08:35 AM

Brees Rodgers and Ryan are going to wait for Cousins to sign then re-sign/extend their contracts with their team.

If the Saints don’t have him signed by 4pm ET Wednesday, there will be a $18M cap hit accelerated directly to their 2018 books. It will stay no matter if he extends there or not. Think of Hali a few years ago.

The Saints have absolutely zero leverage.
