Big update;

First off, there was no 'season 2' for 1883, at least not initially.

The story we got from the spinoff of Yellowstone was supposed to be a limited series completed in those 10 episodes.

Now Sheridan is presenting his rumored Bass Reeves story, that was supposed to be another separate property as 1883: The Bass Reeves Era.

No details on overlap or connections.

For those who don't know, Bass Reeves was the face of law and order in the West in the later half of the 19th century. A black man who rose to US Marshall, he was the basis for The Lone Ranger, or at the very least his history most closely tracks the stories told of The Lone Ranger.

Hmmm, just saw during halftime that a new season starts next Sunday with a 2 hour episode. Paramount.
