I mean, Ted freakin Williams only got 93% for his induction!
Who were the 7% ****ing morons that didn't think HE belonged in the Hall of Fame?!? So, again, a lot of 'politics' and who likes you and who doesn't. |

The five non-votes were tracked down. Three didn't vote for Seaver as a protest for Pete Rose not being included on the ballot. One didn't vote for Seaver because he never voted for candidates in their first year. This is the type of voter that gives the whole voting body a bad rep. The last one made a mistake on his ballot and checked the wrong box, which was meant for Seaver. |

C.C. Sabathia was probably not your typical first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he was well liked by the writers, so he's in the first try. Curt Schilling has a much superior career to Sabathia, but he goes 10 years on the writer's ballot and doesn't get in because of non-baseball reasons. In December of 2022, the Contemporary Era Committee has a chance to get Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens into the HOF after the writers passed over them. They both get less than four votes out of 16 total. Instead, the Contemporary Era Committee votes in Fred McGriff because he's a good guy and everybody likes him! |
Fred McGriff helped Tom emanskis team win back to back to back aau championships

The Astros are expected to resign Alex Bregman now that this move is done.

Royals sign reliever Carlos Estevez to a 2 year deal. Nice.

Bubic was dynamite in the second half with a 32% K rate, 4% BB rate and 28% K-BB. He also had a 53% groundball rate. |
Very nice! But I don't know about Bubic in the rotation, but I suppose they have to find out one way or another.

The pros with Estevez is he is a strike thrower and misses bats.
The only worry is that he had a 50% flyball rate in 2024. |

22M for a reliever? I guess we are going the Iowa Hawkeyes football route and just gonna try to not let em score.
|
I guess we got some tiger blood in us.

Can't have enough bullpen arms. Solid move. Rany being a bitch on Twitter about it.
|
I wish we had added Profar. That or Joc Pederson plus this would have been great.
|
JJ has really flipped the bullpen into a strength. Got power arms now. Can really play into different situations. Team has 5 legit power arms with strikeout ability in Erceg, Estevez, Zerba, Hernandez and Harvey.
|
I wonder who gets first crack at the 4th pitching slot.. Bubic or Lorenzen?

Just think, we went into last season with MacArthur as our closer…. My how things have changed…
Bullpen has the potential to be a real strength if most of the guys play up to their stats and ability. Lot more depth going into this season. Won’t likely be as dominant as the HDH years, but we could be getting close, especially if Harvey can be healthy and perform to his ability. Now cmon JJ, pull the magic lever and get us another hitter! |

I don't think they are controversial opinions. |
We need to find the right trade partner, but I believe bundling one of our young catchers with someone who has a young, promising, controllable outfielder makes the most sense given the likely reality of our payroll.

The Tigers made out well renting him to the Dodgers as they acquired SS Trey Sweeney, who is probably not a first division regular but was an upgrade because he wasn't Javier Baez. They also landed catcher Thayron Liranzo, who is on some top 100 lists. He has big time power and a big time throwing arm, similar to our guy Blake Mitchell. The Tigers are also flushed with catcher depth as they have Josue Briceno, the Arizona Fall League MVP. |
