Terrible ****ing call on that fifth foul got A Rob. Looked like a good block to me.
I've never seen so many offensive fouls called on one team in my life. That was legit, but the others weren't.
Wtf is that call on Mark Mitchell? These ****ing refs need shot in their heads.
Tamar Bates is a ****ing stud.
What a ****ing horse shit ruling. Should be a foul, but instead the fouling team gets the ball under their basket.
Wow! SMH. Ole Miss ball because he fouled
Bad play by Grill right there. Damn.
Way to knock down both free throws
That's not getting overturned
Nice defense in the paint there
Nice win! I wish that they could have beaten the dang Longhorns. That one will probably knock them out of the top 25 despite this win
We are a good team. Can beat any team on any given day.
Schedule coming up is brutal. Need to go 2-1
They're 16-4 with yet another top 25 win. Texas beating aTm should help them too.
They're a clear top 20 team |
I missed the game, when I saw Hamas was the last post I thought it was an L. ROFL
Caleb Grill might be in my top 5 favorite tigers in my lifetime
Same song and story the sec refs suck ass
This Mizzou team can get off to one hell of a start lol
It's really cool, as a human, to see Caleb Grill having this season.
Kid has had some obstacles, and it is always fun to see someone overcome difficulties. This team can be a LOT of fun. I really like the Gray-Mitchell-Pierce-Grill-Robinson or Perkins lineup. Lot of size, athleticism, and offensive ability with that group. Only real weak link is Grill as on-ball defender. |
So they're just going to whistle us every time we breathe on them?
OMG, Gray made both FT's!
I think you guys are actually good.

Holy shit, Grill is en fuego!
Gates is finding some nice rotations for his guys. There is definitely some real talent there.
Another good game today. Such an amazing turn around from last year. Going from winless in the SEC to winning against 4 ranked opponents so far. How far can this team go in the tournament? At this rate, sweet 16 is realistic.
They kicked ass today.
Hoops are fun again.
Damnnnn. Just watched it. We might make some noise in the tourney this year. That was beyond impressive.
Next two are pretty tough. If we can somehow beat Tennessee watch out.
If they wouldn't have gone completely cold against Texas, then they'd be top 10 next week.
Who was the idiot that suggested Gates was a one-trick pony, or some such?

I on the other hand have never said a bad thing about Dennis Gates. He's my favorite Mizzou coach ever. |
What will we be ranked this week? Top 15? I’m thinking switch with miss state at 13

That team is probably a lot different if Caleb Grill doesn’t get hurt + experience a mental health crisis, and Tonje doesn’t get hurt. Everything came together perfectly for this squad. Gray has given them the size, physicality, defense and rebounding they lacked. And he’s bad-ass defending the pick and roll. Mitchell is the perfect F for Gates. Big and athletic, can defend bigs and rebound, but also has wing skills and can defend the wing in switch situations or drive on bigger guys. Perkins is the perfect combo guard to pair with Ant. Physical, can handle, gives them a really nice floor for PG performance game in, game out. The. You throw in Pierce and Ant taking nice steps forward, and Grill getting healthy and shooting like he’s Larry Curry or something, and even a few freshmen giving them good minutes when needed, and it’s a deep, talented squad with a lot of depth. |
I hate to break it to you guys but Caleb Grill is not this good. He will shoot you out of some games on his own. But hes streaky and hes hot. Gotta hope for the best.

If you beat Tennessee, this is a no-shit potential Final 4 team. If you can go into Knoxville and win that game, there's not a game you CAN'T win. You can beat anyone. Now I'm not gonna get THAT optimistic so I harbor few illusions about beating TN. But that A&M game is a real stress test moment. At home with a chance to prove you're a legitimate top 4 seed in the tournament. You make it to that 2 or 3 line and anything can happen. You hang tough with TN and beat A&M and that's absolutely on the table. But....Mizzou. |

Welp. 34-28 against #4 TN at the half.
Yeah - win or lose, this is a legit squad.
They're gonna shit the bed at least one more time this year but on any given night they seem to be able to beat anyone in the country. And they can do it in different ways. We've seen them play great defense, get hot from deep, do it inside, drive/dish, win with ball movement. They don't seem to have only one way to win. I'd say their ceiling depends on their shooting but that goes for literally every team in the country. It's just a very good basketball team. |
Hold on for twenty minutes and the story of this season takes a dramatic turn as far as our tournament run.
Hold on tonight and win on Saturday and this is a top 10 team next week.
The white boys always whip up on Mizzou.
Of course they can't miss a shot

That's a horse shit foul call
That's horseshit. ****ing refs.
Ant needs to chill the **** out with the foul trouble. He barely gets any playing time because seems to be in foul trouble every game.

Also we have to hit our free throws for the love of God. Killed us last night. Well that and the number four team on the road shooting over 70% from three. |
Disappointed that we lost, but I expected it. I was just hoping that we would keep it competitive and we did. They really had to work for that victory. No shame in losing on the road to the #4 team. Our guys know that could have and should have won that game.
Now, take care of business against A&M on Saturday. |
Quote:
And sho 'nuff, he duffs a look he really needed to hit for a shot at winning that game. You'd have heard buttholes pucker in Knoxville from all the way in CoMo had that shot fallen and we HAVE the guys to hit it. We just didn't put it in their hands. Barrett is still a fun young prospect, but he's not ready. We need to stop acting like he is. |
Quote:
You knew you weren't getting through a road game against a top 5 team without them putting on a run. Suddenly we went from up 10 to down 7ish. Then we pulled it to within 3 and lost the plot again. They answered the first run and that's what good teams do to win those tough road games. But then they allowed the 2nd run and you really just can't do that against excellent teams on the road. Oh well -- shouldn't be any harm done. They acquitted themselves nicely in that game and battled their asses off to the end. Tennessee is good and we didn't play quite well enough for the full 40 minutes to steal it. Shit happens. |
Quote:
We need him on the court, because he's our best ball handler and the guy had 4 fouls in 6 minutes of play time lol. That's insane. |
Man we have some really bad FT shooters on this team.
Also, while looking at stats I ran across a name that I had almost forgot was on the team. Aiden Shaw. That guy has become demoted to bench warmer. He's gotten 17 min in conference play. I'm betting he transfers out. |
Quote:
What killed them last night was literally the best FT shooter in the conference missing two front ends when they were struggling on offense. That game plays out a little differently down the stretch if all you change is Bates converting all 4 of those FTs like you'd expect, instead of them ending up as 0-2. Shaw's role has been sniped by Mark Mitchell and Trent Pierce. Each of those guys can give you everything Shaw offers on defense (size, rebounding, athleticism, length) while also offering nice offensive contributions (Pierce is a legit inside-outside guy, Mitchell can drive and create). |

There are 100+ 4* recruits every year. There AIN'T that many great players that come into the NCAA every season. Maybe a quarter of those guys actually pan out anywhere near their prospect standing. I wouldn't worry a ton about it -- it's pretty rare that any of them leave Mizzou and amount to much either. Just the nature of the beast. These kids are 17/18 years old when they get these ranks. We really don't know dick about how they'll develop when they're stuck in a grownups world and told its time to sink or swim. |

So you're +1 over expectation there, but you'd expect Bates to make 4/4. So -4. Still a net loss. |
When Mitchell isn't effective and Robinson is in foul trouble we lose the two most productive guys in terms of getting to the rim on offense. Mitchell hasn't been as effective since we started conference play. There are so many solid defensive bigs in the SEC that he can't get around like he did non-SEC teams.
I don't ever remember seeing a league that has as many good teams as the SEC does right now. They're like the Big East and ACC of the past, but they're a 16 team league that legit goes about 12 or 13 teams deep. Teams that can beat any team in the country on any given night. The fact that Auburn still hasn't lost a conference game is pretty crazy. |
Which reminds me I ****ing hate Bruce Pearl. Shady cheating mother****er. Can’t stand Auburn.
Anyone have a stream for this game?
Yes, it's coming in great on Youtube TV. I can see us looking like complete garbage in Hi-Def.
****ing Pat Adams is such a trash mother****ing ref. That's an awful ****ing call too.
Terrible ****ing call on Bates. Jesus Christ.
****ing disgusting start.
Finally on the board.
This is ****ing ridiculous
