Great win against a a quality opponent. I was a little worried early on

Wasn't able to watch the game, but it sounds like they got a staggering punch to the face early and never really got on track. However, in the past they lose this game. Now, they win it, although by a closer margin than we would have liked.

But clearly there's some work to be done. This level of play won't cut it against the big boys.

warpaint* 09-14-2024 03:20 PM

There is a lot to clean up & I'm worried about the secondary frankly but the team responded after getting punched in the mouth early by a quality opponent. This was a great win.

Brady Cook is what he is in terms of being a limited player but as long as he avoids turnovers the team can win.

Actually that early punch was really more of Mizzou extending the BC drive with 3rd down penalties.

Add a couple of missed penalties by the ACC officials that hurt MU.

As I posted earlier Mizzou did itself no favors with silly penalties (pointing the finger at Luther Burden).

Well you see, somehow beating a ranked team that will be contending for the ACC is bad because........

I don't know that I'd be too worried about the secondary. The things that beat us today weren't talent issues; they were mental mistakes within the scheme. Those will be fixed.

Both of the last 2 TD'S by Boston College were total brain farts by the DB peeking into the backfield instead of playing his responsibility.

wazu 09-14-2024 04:22 PM

Today was my first day ever attending a Mizzou game. Came in for family weekend since both my sons are students there now. Great atmosphere and experience.was definitely bracing for the worst at 14-3. Glad they pulled it out but I definitely have concerns!

Sassy Squatch 09-14-2024 04:29 PM

Burden needs to chill the **** out. Hopefully that was just a one off because he very easily could've been ejected if they called an unsportsmanlike on him ripping the mouth guard off.

Nah.

It was a terrible win against a solid but unspectacular team. Mizzou busted their asses to lose that game. They did everything imagineable.

All told, it was embarrassing.

But in the playoff era, 'survive and advance' is the name of the game. They did that.

If we're lucky, they got a bit of a wake up call in the process.

This needs to be the last game they play with their heads THAT far up their asses. It was pretty unacceptable.

Sassy Squatch 09-14-2024 04:31 PM

That being said, goddamn is he special with the ball in his hands. Going to ****ing suck if he ends up on a prominent rival in the draft.

Mizzou_8541 09-14-2024 05:51 PM

Brady Cook will get better. He was balls the first three games last year.

Mizzou_8541 09-14-2024 05:56 PM

To be clear he wasn’t bad today but had some bad misses

jjchieffan 09-14-2024 07:07 PM

I just read that Matt Zoellers got a severe lower leg injury today and was taken away in an ambulance. I hope that he's okay.

Where are you seeing this? Can't find anything about it.

****ing hell. Nevermind.

Also, he's been pretty bad.

In 3 games he has 426 passing yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs on a 61.3% completion rate. He did have 23 rushes for 221 yds and 3 TDs.

Hopefully he's ok. There is video of the injury and it's supposed to be pretty graphic. I'm not really into watching that shit anymore.

Pepe Silvia 09-14-2024 07:49 PM

Drink appears to be cursed when it comes to QB's. I hope his luck changes in that department.

I saw photos last night.

I'd be surprised if he's ever a D1 quarterback after that. That's gonna be a tough recovery.

Can’t even imagine how shitty a post would have to be for Pepe Silvia of all losers to delete it. It’s such a low bar to begin with.

That weeping jackass starts menstruating and gives up literally every single week. You can set your watch to it, and it’s a sure sign of victory for Mizzou.

Very Pete like

Boxer_Chief 09-15-2024 08:27 AM

I thought Boston college looked like a damn solid squad. Have some beef up front and their qb can be dangerous. We played a shell on the dline to contain him and that led to receivers having time to get open. Didn’t play our best and beat a ranked team and it could’ve been by more if the mental aspect was there on two plays

The one photo I saw didn't look too dissimilar from Dak's injury. As long as he can avoid post-op complications, I would hope he'd be able to recover.

That happened to one of friends when he landed wrong skydiving. He got over it, but it took a long time. And of course he wasn't trying to play D1 football.

Missouri drops to 7 in the AP Poll. Behind Tennessee and ahead of Miami. Texas now number 1. SEC has 6 if the top 7.

What did Tennessee do to jump us? We played a ranked team, they played like Kent State.

They have been looking for a reason to jump the Vols in front of us since week 1....we just gave them a reason to do it with an average game against a decent team.

Tennessee has looked really good. No issue with moving behind them a space.

Tennessee has Oklahoma next week, Alabama vs Georgia in 2 weeks. Just keep winning and the ranking will take care of themselves.

Another long passing TD where the Cornerback gets caught peeking into the backfield

Mizzou has a decent pass rush but Vandy is taking them out of their game with this ground attack. Will it work for three more quarters? Load the box and make them put the ball in the air. Still risky but hey.

Vandy struggles maintaining that same level of success later in the game...

Dartgod 09-21-2024 03:03 PM

I wonder if some of that is a bit of Cook brashness...sometimes he tries to do too much on his own too. I get that was a called play....but honestly that should have been a chance for MU to get the first down or even the TD

Pitt Gorilla 09-21-2024 03:28 PM
