I actually had planned to retire 12/31/2023 but something came up with the grandson and, addly, it opened an opportunity for me to go on a dive trip that I had written off because it was going to happen the same week as the grandson was due. Well, long story less long, being a premature baby allowed me to go on the trip and that made it make no sense to keep the 12/31/2023 date intact. SO I really didn't have a lot of time to get unmotivated with all the work that needed to go into planning for subordinate staff to cover for me for a longer than "he's out diving for a week" vacation. But I did become less and less worried about things as my folks started taking over while I was still there so they could ask questions..

I was a contractor in I.T. so I didn't have an office to retire from. Because of the short term memory loss issues I had to retire a year or two before planned.

I'd like Arrowhead Kingdom to survive past me. I think we are already there but I had already started to turn it over a couple of years ago to others before my health issues.

I created a leadership crew to run things. Been going well. I'm still involved but letting others take the lead. I'm not involved in the road tailgates and events this year. We has planned big push this off season to expand our international chapters beyond the 6 countries we are already in. But, now even though I have the extra time these days, I just don't have the passion that would take to pull off.

So far, I'm finding that I like having no daily responsibilities beyond feeding myself. :D

It's taken me a bit to get into a rhythm since retiring last January.

One thing that's helped is taking over some of the daily house chores simply to make more time for the rest of the family. I'll never be mistaken for a Michelin chef, but I'm defintely getting more comfortable making dinner and trying recipies I never thought I'd be able to handle.

Finally getting into a good rhythm with my writing. Just about to put the finishing touches on a novella, got three short stories started, and two novels are at various points of being finished.

Also, getting caught up on my backlog of books I've been meaning to read, DVDs I've been meaning to watch and found a couple of channels on the tube that specialize on older TV shows (esp. GRIT to catch up on those old 1950s westerns and GET - watching the heck out of Mike Hammer, Magnum P.I., Rockford Files, and Kojak.)

So, yeah, it takes a little bit and some experimenting to figure out what works, but if you don't try to force it, I think it's easy to find something that interests you enough to keep you from being bored.

Thats really cool. :thumb:

I used to start work around 4:45a, but teleworking allowed me to sleep until 4:30a and shower later in the day.

So I'd say let nature take its course, your internal clock will adjust over a few months. I'm still a 6:30-7:00am person, but that's because I don't want to sleep away my retirement.

Just my $.02

I lived on Roatan for a year just before the bank crisis...the $ god's saw to it that I would not retire early. What did you think of my fair island? MY ISLAND!!

Right on, brother. I'm beyond blessed because outside of the ailments a former Navy diver has in his late 50s, I'm good to go. A few back issues, but I don't think many active people get into their late 50s without some kinds of aches, pains, and some arthritis poking its way into reality, and it's nothing that working smarter than harder doesn't get around. I too was I.T. for most of my life, worked from home, was blessed beyond belief to have leaders under me who made my life pretty darn easy and allowed me to take time off and not worry for even a minute about what I'd be returning to. Sure networking has it's tough days, wide area networking comes with added stress of whining users, but at the end of the day you adapt to they bullshit, ignore the noise, and focus on the mission.

That said, like you, it's awesome to have near zero corporate responsibility. Technically I still work because I teach scuba, but it's a passion, it's easy, it provides LOTS of travel with offset costs, and I can do as much or as little as I want. I knew that this passion of mine wasn't something most people can do at a high level into their 70s, so when the younger son graduated from school I knew it was time to get out of the corporate bullshit and start living the wonderful life that ~50 straight years of working, starting as a paperboy, have provided. Sometimes I wish I had retired in my early 50 mid 50s, but I didn't want to retire until we knew what the younger son was going to pursue as a career. As soon as that was done I never looked back.

Egypt with the younger son is going to be epic... I don't think I've been so excited to go on a trip as I am for this one. And in a proud dad moment, I'm more than sure I'm going to pause for a moment when we splash for the first time on 9/1/2024 that while his early diving career is different than mine was, at that moment, I'm be diving with my son who will be more qualified in some areas of the industry than me. Yeah, I'm smiling ear-to-ear. And I'm going to certify him in both wreck and advanced wreck diving in the north Red Sea - something I told him he'd have to wait for. It's time, now he just has to show me that he's ready to complete the certification.

I'm not sure what the last part has to do with retiring, but for me it does, it's one of the milestones I had set for myself, if he was ready (and wanted to endure dad being a bit of a prick for the advanced cert), so I'll allow it!

I love YOUR island... I love Utila just as much, but Roatan does have more "to do"... That said, the AirBNB we were in did have a fire in the detached laundry room that the maids use (we didn't have access to it), so I got to fight a fire with some Honduran fire fighters, so that's marked off my list of things to do. I usually either stay at Anthony's Key or CoCo View (when I'm leading dive trips), or somewhere around Sundowner's if I'm there with a smaller friends-and-family group, but this last time the AirBNB was waaaay west (1,500 feet from the most southwest point on Roatan!!) and we dove out of Infinity Bay (IB). I got to know a lady who has a condo in IB so next time I'm there with just the family we'll work with her and stay there. LOVED their house reef!

So I love YOUR island!! :)

;) I assumed you were a diver, then I saw that you teach scuba! Amazing place for scuba and snorkeling. From my house, I could walk to Infinity Bay...seeing brain coral without getting your hair completely wet is pretty damned good diving. I met a guy at IB bar who was a Mizzou grad from St Lou and fellow sports lover. We listened to Elite 8 run at the bar, watched the Super Bowl on the beach with fire dancers and a few hundred gringos. I think that was the dark era of Chiefs FB, so I didn't miss anything by not having cable.

The AirBNB was just up "cardiac hill" from IB, and man did we all have a great time. The dive shop was awesome (no hassles about me teaching while I was there), and that house reef, just like you said, was something we dove most afternoons. And while IB's beach bar was cool (the found zero-sugar tonic for me!!!) it was spendy, so we spent a lot of time up the beach at the Banarama bar (that's where the non-divers would be when we got back from our morning boat dives), and it was pretty darm OK, close, and a decent price. But nothing beats Sundowners, it's still my go-to bar and a fun boat taxi from far down south..

I lived on a Kibbutz about 45 minutes from the Red Sea for about 8 months/ Use to go down to the beach and snorkel in the Red Sea. The coral was so bright and it went on for miles. Cant imagine being able to dive and see it right in front of your face. Way cool that you'll be seeing it with your son up close.

Warning..... do not go anywhere in Egypt that's not touristry. That's the only areas where the Egyptian's keep a tight lid on crime. You may get mugged outside those areas but thats not the big deal. Kidnapping and ransom is rampant. When I was living in that area, Americans were welcome. Far from it these days. Rape of Female tourists is rampant outside the tourist areas.

I've lead trips to the Red Sea out of both Hurghada and Port Ghalib and I've told my clients, "If you think you've seen reef in the Caribbean, just wait..." And while I'll certify my son (if he passes all the skills) in wreck, then advanced wreck, this is just a fun trip to celebrate him entering his career - mine IT career comes to an end and his diving career begins, it's cool. He's still got a long way to go to achieve his goal of being a saturation diver, but with hard work and attention to detail, he'll gwet there.

And you're right, any of my clients who choose to do a land tour while in Egypt know that they should only go with well known transportation companies and touring companies. I personally don't do them, I've seen as much of the pyramids as I want to see, and if I'm going to see stacked rocks, I'm going to Italy!!! LMAO, but I will certainly help them is they want.

Much like a trips to Fiji and the Maldives I'm leading in 2025, many people want to take advantage of places in the area, so a number of folks going to Fiji are going to hangout in Hawaii for a few days before the hop to Fiji (that one I might do), and some going to the Maldives are going to hang in Sri Lanka for a spell.

I love traveling... :thumb:

"Cardiac Hill"! I used to get up every morning before 6 becasue the sun was so bright...I'd slam a smoothie or coffee and attack Cardiac Hill. I think it took me 3 months of fail before i could slow jog/walk to the top. And SUndowners...what a kick! I used to go there on cruise ship days waiting for the "antelope with the injured hoof". One night, I chatted up a Dutch beauty who for some reason was buying everything I was selling. Turns out, she was there with a guy that she obviously wasn't terribly close to, but the sucker was back at the airport waiting for lost luggage! They were staying in the West End so she dropped off her carry-on at the room and went streight to Sundowners. We hit it off REALLY well, and she had her hand on my upper thigh when a VERY unhappy looking Euro walked up and grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the bar. She managed to make two people very unhappy that night! She was half my age and hotter than donut grease...the big fish that got away. Good times though with Chippy next door to Sundowners who claimed he was the brother of one of the Stones. He used to sell pints and showed movies on Fri nights on the side of his Fish and Chips truck.

Cardiac hill is a trip, that God for the Grand Roatan kinda half way up, it had a great bar (I taught them how to make "Baby Beers" shots)and free pool table. So after our afternoon shore dives at IB we'd shower at the dive shop or the lady's condo, mosey up the beach to Bananarama, have something to eat and some libations, and on the way back to the AirBNB we'd stop off at the Grand Roatan (THAT PLACE IS FREAKING NICE!!!) for some additional libations and most evenings the front desk help (who loved us) would golf cart us up to the house. That was during the eclipse, and when we showed the hotel staff the boob eclipse pic, we were welcome anytime. And because they're not Americans, the lady staff like it just as much as the dudes.. LMAO

It was an epic trip...

Awesome!
If you ever get back down there and have a big group, this is my sister/bro-in-law's place where I lived. 3 BRs, a Bath and kitchenette downstairs, main level kitchen/LR and half bath, and primary bed/bath on third level. Decks everywhere, a pool, outdoor bar. It's on the hilltop so it gets beautiful cooling breezes every day about 3pm...about a 5 minute walk to Bananarama.

Will do. The next trip for our little travel group (we have a "little" group [7 of us] and a "big" group [~20 of us]) is October in Coz, but I'll definitely tell them about this for next time we go to Roatan on a friends and family trip.

I went to Roatan on a cruise. Took a bus over to the beach to snorkel among the coral, beautiful blue water and hang at the beach. We went by some of the poorest looking neighborhoods. Looked like no electricity or running water in these neighborhoods. Beach and coral were excellent but that looked like an mid-Sahara Africa destitute place.

Yep, when I lived there, a labroer would make $5 USD a day. They have little roadside puperias that sell small bags of rice and beans, 6 eggs, little cartons of milk, because that's all they can afford on the way home. The poor enclaves are mostly mainlanders that come to Roatan for work (very little economic activity in the mainland). The residents of the isalnd are descendants of African slaves and are VERY proud of their English schooling and churching, and far MUCH better than the hispanic mainlanders. They actually look down on them because they are so destitute, father and brothers will prostitute their young daughters and sisters. It's soul crushing but I've seen it first hand. The Hill Folk live in concrete "foundations" (appears as if it was going to be a neighborhood but construction stopped), which is ok until rainy season. I took some workers home one day into the hills, and those roads are impossible to describe...as are the living conditions.

Speaking of beans and rice.. One of the people in the AirBNB with us was another instructor from Belize (in b4 the Belize jokes pour in...), and he showed us how to make Belezian beans and rice. Man was it good, I quoted my effort from the "What's for Dinner" tread.

Beans and rice is sooooo simple and SOOOOOO good!

To get this thread back on talking about retirement.....

Any one of you guys that are retired starting to find that you are just as busy as you were while working, but that what you are doing are things you enjoy?

Since I retired I have gotten several offers to do part time consulting, and even had a couple of offers to come out of retirement to get some smaller companies headed in the right direction in regards to my expertise.

Most of my time is taken with my part time Picker job, buying and reselling things I find at garage sales, estate sales, and even things people leave at the street side on trash day. That and my volunteer opportunities have me busy almost every....but I still find my mornings looking at ChiefsPlanet.

What say you fellow retirees?

I'm not retired, but I am teaching an Operations Management class at night at one of the local universities. As I slowly inch my way towards retiring, I find the idea of teaching a couple of classes after retiring more appealing. I get to talk about subjects I'm a so called "expert" in and share some of my experiences. It doesn't really seem like work.

100% Rep...

When the "work" is your passion and done on your schedule, life is good and it's not really work.

As a n00b in retirement, I've not found my footing yet. I thought when I retired I could take the time to expand Arrowhead Kingdom internationally but my memory issues isn't going to allow that to happen.

I'll probably end up volunteering for a charity.

That is kind of the way that I feel...in doing my consulting jobs I can outline what needs to be done...work with the VP's and Senior Managers and show them how to reinvent their teams.

It's what I have loved doing all my life...just without all the company politics that came with working a regular job.

I get to talk about subjects I'm a so called "expert" in and share some of my experiences. It doesn't really seem like work.

Exactly.....when you do things on your time and without all the headaches of corporate drudgery, it is so much better.

I'll probably end up volunteering for a charity.

The difference is....you have created something that will be your legacy even after you are gone...your work is through and now you should just let the next generation handle this for you.

Working for charities is so rewarding....

Semi-retired now. I have been getting my son what he needs to be on top of the jiu-jitsu world which is a full time job all by itself. He's finally getting old enough to start doing a lot of this on his own so that's going to free up time. I sold my business which gives me income for awhile so I haven't been stressing. I'm going to get my Real Estate License this year and buy property, build and sell to create two incomes. I have a lot to learn in the near future. I need to have something rolling and want to get this business started for my son so he can walk right into Real Estate when he turns 18. That's the plan anyway. I'm pretty excited about it all.

Just had a consultation with IPERS. For those that don't know IPERS is Iowa Public Employees' Retirement System. I've been in public service for 36 years and I enjoy my job. I am maxed out in the benefit package and my consultation guy is pretty much yelling at me sternly, "What are you waiting for? Your losing money and benefits by putting this off". I went into this consultation hoping that my benefits would actually increase by deferring till spring 2025. Looking like this retirement shit is going to happen this October.

I don't know why I am hesitant. I have plenty to do. Its just going to be a big life style change and I need to wrap my head around it.

As a n00b with this stuff, I have not mastered that yet.

Retirement is an adaption that takes time. Your mindset has to come first if it’s a “choice” retirement.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 08-20-2024 05:41 PM

I think the best part of the transition for me was I was leaving on my own terms. I hadn’t intended to retire when I did, but my company decided they didn’t want me to drop down to half-time for my last year.

So, they received my retirement notice about three weeks later. Just stayed long enough ensure I received the full company match for 2023, and then I hit the ground running.

That gave me enough time to get things ready with the family and ensure the finances were in order. Haven’t missed being at wok one day.

yeah I retired for medical reasons forcing me out of my chosen field. They need people with fully functioning brains, go figure. But, it was only 2-3 years early. I got to work at the highest levels in my field. Work with the biggest challenges and companies in the whole world. No regrets here either. Still working on the post work life. Besides having fun and traveling.

I am with you....I retired on my own terms.

Too much company politics that were hindering things I wanted to achieve, plus I was going to have a 4th new boss in a span of 18 months.

I had given them plenty of notice and they were a bit slow in finding my replacement that had the same skill set. When the 4th candidate didn't accept the offer (I am guessing they were wanting to save money from my salary) I set a final retirement date.

I will however say that CAO of the company and I got along really well...he liked my ability to analyze financials on the fly.....provide solutions....and stand my ground on my decisions. At my retirement dinner, he had a really nice speech which made me feel appreciated.

That confirmed for me it was time to leave on my terms.

I recommend this easy read book for anyone approaching retirement. Maybe it will help you wrap your head around it.
I took to retirement like a duck to water! I would have left a few years earlier had I known then what I know now.

Over the next month, I've scheduled ...

a celebratory lunch with my wife
a retirement luncheon at my company
a couple of friend lunches
two concerts
two massages
some sort of special movie viewing that my wife arranged
a role as an extra in an Imax movie
a road trip

I also bought a new computer, so I'll spend some time getting it set up. I'm switching from a PC system to an Apple system, so I'll have a learning curve.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 08-30-2024 07:43 PM

We're about the same age. I'm 61. At some point I did the math and realized that I had enough savings to retire. All those years of being anti-social and staying home at night added up to big cost savings.

Good for you! I just turned 63 and I'm looking at retirement by the end of the year. I blew a lot of money being....married and then being me. Blew a lot on being a Chiefs fan. That's turned out to be worth it.

So now that you're retired are you going to get out and be social?

I'll probably be more social just because I'll have more time, but that probably won't bring me up to average. I'm a wallflower at heart. But I suspect I'll end up putting myself into more new situations, and those tend to generate more social stuff.

Good luck with your retirement plans. I've been retired for over four hours now, and I'm really enjoying it.

Congrats and good luck. I think we met once when you threw a draft party 15 or 20 years ago. I retired early at my minimum SS age because it's set-up so that if you wait, you don't break even unless you live to your 80's. Depending on your lifestyle and genetics and our countries long-term economic outlook, I decided to get started getting the money I'd paid in sooner rather than later.

Congratulations on the retirement Rain Man....

One suggestion on the soon to be large collection of footballs, baseballs, softballs and soccer balls that you will accumulate....

Play It Again Sports....you might find it to be a retirement benefit supplement.

I’m pulling out all my 401K money out of the stock market. Going to just put it in FDIC CD’s. No gambling for me from now on. If the $ collapses, we and the whole world are ****ed.

CD’s I can always get to. We stagger them so if we have an emergency we can pull that money out without losing the interest money.

People think you can't play it safe with your money once you retire....that all depends on how you wish to live in retirement.

If you want to be John and Janie Jetset then you will need a treasure trove of money....

If you want to just live a comfortable lifestyle and enjoy your years, conservative mindsets work very well.

yeah I retired earlier than planned so we didn’t have the nest egg we wanted to have but we have enough money for a comfortable retirement. .

I traveled around the world from 18-25 years old. Pretty much everywhere but Russia/China and South America. So I don’t feel the need to travel like that again.

I was in Accounting for business and I still traveled so much while working that I have no desire to fly all over the world (much less the US) these days.

Florida is a great place to retire to...plenty of things within traveling distance to see in Georgia, Alabama, NC SC and if I am in the mood, TN.

One the occasion I want to hop on a plane it will only be to see my daughter and son in law.

People come from all over the world just to spend a few days here in our hometowns. I live here. Thats pretty cool.

I have 30 palm trees in my yard. Huge swimming pool and inground jacuzzi. 10K boat dock(but, currently have no boat). Even though I don't have a million in cash I'm supposed to have at retirement, I already live in a vacation spot. Absolutely no desire to go off globe trotting. I'll probably travel in the USA. I think I'd like to take one of those scenic trains through the Rockies or maybe one of those Canadian rail trips.

You are right....one of the things I would probably get on a plane to travel to is to take a train trip thru the Rockies....or the Canadian version.

Plus....I do have the desire to take 2 weeks to spend in Washington DC to do all of the Smithsonian's.

So I amend my thoughts to this....I live in a beautiful state. I have friends and family who come visit me because I live close enough to the beach that it is an attraction that brings them here. There are a few places I will go as a retirement travel desire, but for the most part....I am home. :)

I don't feel like I'm there yet. I had all my money in TSP and cd's up until 3.5 years ago when I got tired of making 0.1%. Got a financial advisor and I've averaged almost 7% since Feb 21 even through Covid. I told him to go conservative but he got me around 14% last year and I'm up over 11% this year. With my retirement, SS and a couple of part-time jobs I do mostly for fun and to keep me busy, I haven't to touch it yet.

We may have to create a sub-group in here call Retirement Planet. :hmmm:

Mosbonian 09-05-2024 06:27 AM

Quick serious comment that has not been addressed yet, but I feel the need to bring up to all of us.

On Tuesday I went to lunch with a local buddy of mine who retired about a year ago. I thought it a bit odd that he would just call me out of the blue and ask to have lunch, but I thought maybe he was trying to get started again on our regular lunch meets we used to have.

I could tell by looking at him something was wrong....he didn't have his normal jovial persona and his face looked worn.

Long story short...he is struggling mentally with his self worth and his place now that he is retired. He feels like he is no longer contributing positively like he did when he was working....for some reason a job and a paycheck was his emotional identity and after a year of doing, as he put it, "selfish things only for me", he had gotten down on himself.

I listened....just talked when he needed me to. Man did stuff come out that I could tell he needed to vent. Then I took him to meet the Counselor from our church and introduce them to each other. Our guy handed him his card and said...."when you need to talk, call me." Nothing more...just his way of saying come talk to me when you need to. (Our church has many people my age who are in retirement or getting there and developed an outreach program just for that group)

To sum up...if you have friends you see that are struggling like mine was, make sure to keep in touch with them. We will all eventually have times that we struggle in retirement and it's no shame to admit it.

BigRedChief 09-09-2024 10:41 AM

My memory loss has gotten a lot worse the last couple of months and I had to to give up control of Arrowhead Kingdom. I'm making mistakes that I have no idea why I did that. I've got a great leadership crew to take over. They'll take it places I never could of. So it looks like it will survive post BRC.

That's the first time I've really felt "old". I figured I could spend more time on our international surge in retirement. Alas, it was not to be.

I am loving retirement though. I enjoyed my work but it was stressful. Don't miss it yet.

TrebMaxx 10-04-2024 02:19 PM

Welp! I have 5 more working days left. Trying to avoid any new projects but my boss keeps bringing me in on meetings for FY-25 budget items. I don't think he realizes my "giveashitter" is broken and I don't care what they do. Time has flown by these past few months but I imagine this last week will drag on.

I gave just over 10 weeks notice, and my boss and I sat down and worked out a strategy for which of my subordinate directors would act for me during those remaining weeks (with me there) until I to prepare for acting for me when I was actually retired. That worked out very well, for the week(s) each acted for me they attended all my meetings pretty-much as me with me in the background, and we learned what details I needed to further provide all of them, access to certain folders too, in order to take over. Unlike previous years when they'd "bridge the gap" while I was on diving vacations, this was going to be a lot more real, so it was helpful. I was blessed by having hired super-awesome folks and in turn they hired a really awesome leadership chain under them.

But yeah, sometimes it's not the best idea to have the outgoing person in on budget meetings for the next fiscal year...

Enjoy your last week, you're going to smile a lot..

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 10-04-2024 09:26 PM

I guess I'm lucky in that I had a bunch of other things going on in my life. Work never defined me - it was something I did so I could afford to do other stuff.

I remember meeting my last team lead a couple of years ago. He brought me down for lunch and explained who he was and what his plans were for the team writ large and what he intended to do to help each member of the team advance in their careers.

I stopped him after a bit and said, "John, my only goal at (Company) is to get to retirement in a couple of years. I have no aspirations at being a manager - my last job in the Army had me leading 84 soldiers in 53 separate offices and answering to six different officers at one time or another. I want interesting work, regular hours, and to be left alone to do my job. I don't want a promotion, am not seeking a promotion, and would probably turn down said promotion. So, does that help?"

He looked at me, smiled, and said, "So, how do you feel about football?" It was a very pleasant lunch after that. *grin*

I don't think he realizes my "giveashitter" is broken and I don't care what they do. Time has flown by these past few months but I imagine this last week will drag on.

Congratulations! Enjoy your retirement! Do you have any hobbies? Plans for your new free time?

We have been retired now for just over a decade and I have the same as or more than a full time job keeping up with my hobbies and property maintenance.

When we retired in 2014, I would have never believed that I would have to pay $10.50 for 5 peaches or $950 for 6 months of car insurance.

I'm down to seven working days. This is working out well for me because the company I work for, well contracting with, was purchased and is being dissolved. Our IT department is winding down and we just sit around waiting for them to turn out the lights.

Have started looking into Medicare and am shocked at how much this costs the average person. My dentist and eye care centers do not take any Medicare at all so I will need to find a new one. Been going to them for over thirty years...

I'm a little bit nervous about the whole thing because I've spent my entire working life defining myself as what I can do for the job and now that's going to be gone.

Lots of changes in IT; from punched cards to 'the cloud'. Seen the rise of the PC and the fall of the mainframe. Been an interesting ride and I'm glad I'm going to be out of IT.

*grin*

I'll be honest, I had staff members who were exactly like you and they were some of the most productive and easy people to have on staff. I was in network engineering so it was actually very nice having staff who just wanted to engineer and/or troubleshoot networking issues, but weren't jockeying for the next supervisory job. So my hats off to you for being the dude who made it clear that you were happy where you were and got on to talking football.

100% agree, IT has gone from being an interesting and rewarding career to one where you get all the blame, a slashed budget and it's a legalized sweatshop. Like you won't, I don't miss it at all.

That said, I hope you developed a hobby during your years in IT. IMO, a hobby is almost a requirement for IT people to decompress during those brief times when you aren't living the job day and night because few successful IT workers have any semblance of a 9-5 job anymore. I am, and always have been, a SCUBA junkie and part of not missing my IT job is that the IT job has allowed me to retire very nicely and live my passion of teaching diving and frequently traveling for diving. Granted on many of my trips I'm "working", but it's hardly work for me. I hope you have a hobby that you're very passionate about, and do it a lot after seven more working days.

A bit of advice.... Plan an awesome trip soon... It's the best way to break into retirement and forget what you just left.. Three days after I retired I spent a week in Roatan diving, it was awesome beyond words... I was a retiree...
