He was getting the ball thrown his way because he was the guy getting open. |
It's just fickle to turn on a guy this fast. The last game he played he was instrumental in lifting a banner. The next game he played he dropped some balls and fans were calling for him to be released because they're drunk and lost in both the sauce and their feelings.

Anyone blaming his knee is lost. He was doing a good job getting open, just couldn't pull his head out of his ass. He will rebound and wbf. |
Giants fan here. I remember reading a quote from Kelce where he said "I don't know how they let him out of the building"
Chiefs fans found out why last night. Toney was a clown in NY and he will continue to be a clown in KC. Coach Daboll was even playing his garbage rap music over the loudspeaker in practice trying to connect with him and get on board but he is what he is. The punt returns and the Euphoria of winning a Superbowl had Chiefs fans blinded for a while. We got Darren Waller for the pick we traded for Toney. We're loving that on the east coast. Good Riddance to that fool. Thanks for knocking off the Eagles by the way. |
I blame Reid more than Toney. Yeah, I know he practiced all week and that's meaningful to Reid, but the dude missed all of camp. He clearly wasn't ready to play.
And where the **** was McKinnon. Dude murdered teams all preseason when he got the ball, but no, lets get cute in the red zone or keep throwing it to KT |

If you mean mentally ready, that's a HUGE problem. |

But if hating on Toney gives you a temporary distraction from that reality, then go for it. |

Are we already so arrogantly entitled to winning SB's that the first game after the SB we totally trash one of the players who won us a SB? |
Quote:
He had a terrible game, but did not look like he was at full speed. He probably catches more confidently when he steps more confidently and it may be better to let him build up his fitness like the Chiefs did last year. |
KT is protected under the Frank Clark principle.
|
I'm very happy he chose this game instead of the last to have a rough night. This game will pass like a fart in the wind. The SB title lasts forever.

I'm not turning on Toney, I'm pissed that he dropped critical passes. I felt the same way about Rice in the preseason. I hope that Mahomes gets some trust in these guys because last night was not a good representation of our offense.
Toney, this is your freebie. Get back to work! You didn't get much playing time in preseason and obviously you needed it. |

Be careful champ. You barely escaped "Danny Dumb" a few years ago at Arrowhead with Joe Judge as head coach. You don't want to see the NYG in a game that actually means something. Keep it up and you'll wind up next on the list of dynasties the Giants have crumbled. The Giants ended the 49ers three peat. And I know you know what happened to Brady twice. You want Mahomes on that list too homeboy? I didn't post that to talk shit. As a Giants fan I don't think about the Chiefs. We'll see where we are going this year. Right now you're 0-1. |
I'd give Toney more rope than Moore (bum) but that was shameful display of drops and idiot-boy route running. He should either be getting worked by a position coach right now or hiding out at his house with the blinds closed. As for Moore, I'd want that garbage off the team. You can find a better receiver with facebook add's...The quicker the team realizes he's not an NFL player the better. Let him sort his life out by knowing this fact sooner rather than stringing him along for more false hope and flailing midget catches.

Well I just re-watched that drop on the final drive and am a bit peeved again lol
https://reddit.com/r/nfl/s/WJeFDpAuYn We were set up SO nicely. Down just 1 point. A catch there sets us up at the Lions 30-ish yard line and probably able to bring it down to the 2:00 minute warning. All we needed was a field goal. |

He was rusty last night and after the first drop, he couldn't forget about it. The Org essentially anointed him #1 after the SB.
For now, he looks like what NY thought he was. Expecting Hardman 2.0. |
The Giants literally traded us a Super Bowl title. I don't know why they're flexing.

In hind sight, Yeah, if Toney had made that last catch we would have won. But Toney did miss all of training camp and has to get his groove on, it'll come. This will light a fire under Mahomes and the team. 16-1

I think we all need to rally around Toney instead of piling on him about last night. His injury history is my only concern.

This place never ceases to amaze me...:doh!:
I get it...I was pissed too. If last night's WR issues continue for the next 2-3 weeks, especially once Kelce is back, I will become concerned--but let's put this into perspective. It was not a good showing, but it is one nonconference game. Young WRs pissed themselves without Kelce's steadying influence. However, people forget. We lost games last year when, arguably, one was due to a crucial Kelce drop and another a Chris Jones penalty. Yet those two guys, along with Toney, were pretty instrumental in beating the Eagles in February. It's a long season. If last night becomes a pattern, I'll get concerned. Meanwhile, let's give Toney a chance to knock off the rust, Kelce a chance to heal, Veatch and the FO a chance to figure out how to get CJ back on the field. Let's see where we are at by late October or so, before we all lose our minds. |

Waller's body is beat to shit.
At least with Toney maybe our training staff figures out how to limit the injuries. |
Waller never helped a team to win a SB either.

Worst single game PFF WR grade since 2018 I have faith he turns it around, but that was a new level of shit |

I don’t think Toney is a number 1. But I will defend his ass from this bullshit. Chiefs are basically praying that Kelce never misses a game so do t put that shit on Toney.

Come January, I sure as hell be pulling for Toney to redeem himself enough to put the haters and bonehead armchair QBs posting in this thread in their place.
He's not Tyreek yet guys, but he ain't Jonathon Baldwin or Sylvester Morris either--at least not yet. :doh!: |
