There will be good players when we pick, like if our pick is Gervon Dexter that is a great pick for us.

Darnell Washington may be the one that falls because apparently he got medical flags.

Even then, Mayer, Musgrave LaPorta, and Kraft could all go.

And honestly the Ravens taking a WR is head scratching to me too, Lamar is not a great passer that can use all these weapons and they have a gaping hole at #2 CB.

there's rumors floating ravens are trying to get a trade for hopkins on board too. they are basically going all out for monken's scheme

They have Flowers, OBJ, Bateman, Duvernay, Agholar

How many receivers do they need?

staylor26 04-28-2023 12:11 PM

I wonder if Bateman can be had for a 3rd.

I'd gladly do that and trade up for Benton.

bateman sounds like a post-draft veach reclamation project trade waiting to happen

Yeah, I'd be disappointed if they took downs with Mingo, Tillman, and Rice available. Especially at 63.

Mingo/Tillman and one of Duncan or Freeland would be a slam-dunk Day 2 for the Chiefs.

Take that and a rotational 1 tech in the 4th and this class would be set more or less.

AB is trolling and/or begging to be a Raven. It's BS.

I would love nothing more than for AB to be a Raven. Yeah, won't happen, but god that'd be amazing.

Bills could use a WR too.....

Why would you trade a 3rd for that broke dick? He's done Jack shit when he's actually played too

Now this is just absolute BS. He's clearly been their best and most reliable WR when he's been on the field. If anything, Lamar was clearly the issue there.

And he's just better than most of the 2nd round WRs, and that's not a knock on those guys.

He's got like 60 catches in 2 years with 3 TDs. That's not really anything to write home about.

You don't think he would succeed in this offense?

No WR is going to get consistent production with Lamar at QB.

When he was healthy last year, he was a big play waiting to happen. Almost 20 ypc. He was inexplicably not getting the targets he was demanding.

I've watched him play when healthy, and he'd fit in perfectly with our other young WRs. Compliments Toney and Skyy well.

Still need a developmental, high ceiling CB.

We’re gonna let Sneed walk in 2024.

I don't disagree he has/had talent coming out but I guess you and I will have to agree to disagree on the production part. With that said a 3rd rounder for him would be way too much IMO he's coming off a lisc franc injury.

We don't disagree on the production part, I'm just saying I don't care because I watched him and I saw that he can play.

Yet he hasn't produced in the league

RunKC 04-28-2023 01:35 PM

According to the draft trade chart, if the Chiefs trade their highest 4th (122) and highest 6th (178) they could move from 63 to 55 or 56. Maybe add a pick next year to go higher but 8 spots up is pretty damn good

Haven't gone through this whole thread, so maybe someone already addressed this, but what's our potential options if Veach can't trade up? BPA, I guess. Personally, I think it has to be a WR, but I'm biased towards the offense and skill players. Just curious if there's other options I haven't seen.

If you want a guy to play right now then you should be targeting Tillman or Downs.

If you just want speed then that's Hyatt or Mims but they also need development.

Please explain why you think Mingo needs to be "developed" but Tillman is ready to play?

I do find it odd how over the last 36 hours Williams and Watson both all of a sudden became fodder.

staylor26 04-28-2023 02:45 PM

Called my shot with the Chiefs 1st rounder, so I'm going to try to go 2 for 2:

Tyler Scott, WR, Cincinnati

This guy just has Andy Reid written all over him. I can picture him up at 1 AM watching highlights eating a burger.

I'm not dying for a CB, but it's a good year, it's a valuable position, and I honestly think Watson and Williams could end up being anything from very good to just...OK.

OK, we are on the same page.

You called Felix who I also wanted and Scott to me might surpass the other WRs taken late 1.

RunKC 04-28-2023 04:56 PM

If the Chiefs draft Marvin Mims I will be insufferable with ecstatic enthusiasm

Mecca 04-28-2023 04:57 PM

I think Gervon Dextor is the guy in round 2.

It's between Mims and Scott for me.

I like Scott's tape a little more, but Mims tested better.

ThyKingdomCome15 04-28-2023 05:01 PM

An athletic OT would be nice. Cody Mauch won't be on the board long.

He’d probably be regarded a lot differently if he’d went to usc with the rest of the OU crew.

Chris Meck 04-28-2023 05:30 PM

Honestly, to my eyes, other than Smith-Nigba, I don't see a ton of difference in potential between ANY of the other WR's.

So as far as I'm concerned, we haven't missed out on shit at that position, other than the ONE guy.

let me rephrase-the second rounds guys.

I see Nigba-tier one

about 15 guys at tier two.

If I can't have Hyatt, this is my dude at WR.

There aren’t a lot of guys left with starting upside. At best, they will probably draft a developmental swing. They might not draft any at all.

This is where the value is at WR. Round 2. It was always going to be that way, we just got our hopes up about one of the top 4 WRs falling to 31.

BOOM

Not the guy I called, but happy we got one of these WRs.

Round 3 is where the value is at OT (assuming a couple like Bergeron go off the board before us in the 2nd)

Nailed day 2 in terms of where the value and need would line up.

I think I called DE, WR and OT as the first 3 picks based on value so I'm taking the victory lap too.
