He's broken again.

Sassy Squatch 11-21-2022 11:46 AM

Well, that's more than a bit disappointing that he actually is a broke dick and wasn't just masquerading as one in the Giants Organization.

Mecca 11-21-2022 11:47 AM

Sounds like they pulled him for precautionary reasons.

They seemed to play it cautiously with that stuff, which is probably wise. Especially last night, in the grand scheme of things that game didn't matter nearly as much to KC as it did for LA.

Sure-Oz 11-21-2022 11:56 AM

Let him rest this week. Rams shouldn't be hard to beat

They're not remotely the same guy, Toney is a gadgetish slot style guy where Skyy Moore is basically a #2.

Still not a good look, given his history. Hopefully he plays this weekend and puts the questions to rest.

I would rather see Toney rest and give Skyy Moore some extra plays in the Rams game.

If he's healthy, he should play. Of course, if he's hurt you sit him. But you don't sit him just because you can.

Guys play hurt all the time. Sometimes guys that can probably still play get sat for precautionary reasons. Andy does it all the time. This is nothing new.

I said "if he's hurt, sit him".

If he's 100%, he should play. Anything less than that and absolutely, go ahead and sit him.

The line between 'hurt' and 'injured' is virtually non-existent when it comes to soft-tissue injuries.

How many times over how many years do you think Andy got burned by this sort of thing before he came to this hyper-cautious approach?

Imma defer to him on this one. If he wants to make sure a guy is back and healthy and THEN rests another week to be extra sure - okay. His experience in the game says he has his reasons and then some.

I mean it's not like we have the Chargers Medical staff here, so ya Trust the Reid on this one

O.city 11-21-2022 04:05 PM

The reality of the situation the Chiefs find themselves in is that these games don't really matter.

I mean they do, but we all know it's just hobbknobbing around until January. Get/be healthy then.

With hamstrings, I'd prefer to give him as much time as he needs to get healthy. You don't want it re-injured due to not giving it enough time to heal.

And it's a great situation to be in.

Just look at the Chargers. They rushed Mike Williams back too fast and he re-injured his ankle on his first ****ing catch.

Then they had to play Keenan Allen way more than they intended, which risked re-injury for him as well.

2 weeks is not remotely enough time for a high ankle sprain any dipshit knows that, that's on them.

I beleive it was 3, but still too early.

It's obvious that hey rushed him and Allen back because it was the biggest game of their season.

They're also very close to having to gut that team, Herberts contract is coming due, they're over next years cap with little wiggle room in 2 years they're something stupid like 35 mill over and that's without a Herbert contract..

Guys like Allen and Williams are going to be cut soon.

Chiefs could use Keenan Allen.

;)

ToxSocks 11-21-2022 04:51 PM

So that answers the question if he really was injured, doesn't it?

I guess that's a good thing.

Rest him. Let him learn the playbook and then get his ass ready for the last 3-4 games of the season before the playoffs.

The way most of these QB deals are being structured, I'd be surprised if they have a cap issue with Herbert until 2026. Year 1 (2025) will have a lowish number and year 2 will probably end up getting bonused out anyway for one final push in w/ him on his rookie deal.

Like Buffalo, the answer is to just keep getting better rather than waiting for them to atrophy because I don't see anything impossible in their salary structures.

Sassy Squatch 11-21-2022 05:01 PM

Medial team? It's the field, man.

Look what that field did to the Chiefs. Took out CEH, took out Thornhill, reaggro'd Toney.

Sassy Squatch 11-21-2022 05:03 PM

J.C. Jackson also came back too early and I wouldn't be surprised if his ****ed up knee was a result of him trying to compensate for his ****ed ankle.

Seems like they should have treated the KC game as a bye week for their injured players. Try to get healthier for a Wild Card push instead of a desperate attempt to win the division. They're screwed on the divisional front with the loss yesterday, and now they might be screwed for the Wild Card as well since they rushed to bring back those injured guys too quickly.

Definitely. If he plays it should be limited.

If he is the new Watkins at least he only costs roughly 5 million instead of almost 50 million over 3 years.

Rest him as much as necessary

His whole vibe since arriving has been great, and his production in such a short time has opened many eyes... he's worth some kid glove treatment

Meanwhile Skyy gets force fed into a bigger role, and continues to grow

Its all win

Exactly right.

It also lets Veach see how the offense operates without guys that are entering FA after this year. If they struggle, it may be wise to make a move in the offseason to add another weapon…but if thusly thrive, he can allocate more resources towards another position group like safety and DE.

Its Sammy all over again

Shows up with a bad rap and rep for being space brained, and fragile... but makes good almost instantly in new surroundings and goes on to be massive weapon for years

My take on the Tyreek trade is we would always be fine regular season. It's when we needed a WR to step up in a big playoff game with everything on the line.

Toney can be that guy this year.

emaw1979 11-21-2022 08:18 PM

The Toney injury puts OBJ back in my radar. I thought maybe it's just a Giants thing, but until Toney gets a full off-season with our training staff, they would be better to plan like Toney is not here and be happily surprised when he is.

Considering Toney had a hamstring injury this year before we acquired him, I'd be a little cautious sending him out there.

Yup. This was a game they had to win. They took a calculated risk and it backfired. I don’t want to see KC do the same thing with their injured players. The schedule is easier and outside of maybe Denver they don’t have any tough defenses left on their schedule. KC should be able to do well with who they have until everyone heals.

Ian Rappaport says Kadarius suffered a mild hamstring strain, not a tear or more serious injury.

Knowing Andy, he'll sit at least this week, unfortunately. But at least it's not anything serious.
