With you all the way till the end. Mahomes will win for you. He just can't do it all by himself as many here were convinced he could. Far too many issues with the team.

Raiders jumped into Steelers spot last night.

With Browns "Beating" the Steelers!

Raiders in the 6 spot.

The 4 win Raiders from last year are the #6 seed.....who saw that coming? :)

Hammock Parties 11-17-2019 02:25 PM

Assuming everything holds here...

1. Patriots 8-1
2. Ravens 8-2
3. Colts 6-4
4. Chiefs 6-4
5. Bills 7-3
6. Texans 6-4

Texans win tiebreaker over Raiders currently for the last seed

Colts take over division lead due to tiebreaker

Eagles win tonight and the Ravens take over 1 seed

YayMike 11-17-2019 03:14 PM

This is good for us. ravens have tough schedule down the stretch.

YayMike 11-17-2019 03:15 PM

We move up to 3 with an win and if Philly wins, that’s huge for us going into bye getting ready for the standoff with NE

The Chiefs have lost because of Patrick Mahomes exactly zero times in his career. Better version of Stafford? GTFO

realistically, losing 4/6 and 3 at home including blowing a win with 1:23 left will keep us out of the 1/2 seeds and a bye.

We will have a home playoff game. We have played well on the road. We have Mahomes. We had HFA and didn’t make it. There are no guarantees but, we have just as good as chance “on any given Sunday” as any team in the NFL.

Agreed BRC. I was just pointing out of the top four teams, we may have the easiest remaining schedule. If we pull our heads out of our asses, The 2 is not out of reach.

I have no issue going to NE. I do not want to go to Baltimore. Trust me, all I hear here in a daily basis is how they want a rematch in January.

We want the Patriots.

No AFC team presents less issues for our defense.

Gimme that four seed.

Not off of a bye.

We’re going to see them and Baltimore regardless. Give me Baltimore first off of the bye for them, and NE after they play a game against someone, probably Houston.

I think part of the problem is that Andy/Veach fixated on “beating the Patriots” this offseason. They’ve overlooked/took other contenders too lightly. They need to focus on playing sound football in all phases instead of fixating on one opponent. Indy and Houston are quality teams and Baltimore is fixing to be the beasts of the AFC, and they will be a lot tougher in a re-match.
This team is in no position to overlook anybody.

The big acquisitions they've made just haven't been very good ones.

Expect Ravens to overtake the cheaters for the 1 seed. Much rather face cheaters in the second round. Gawd their offense is a disaster.

mr. tegu 11-17-2019 09:37 PM

Since I don’t see us getting a bye, we should be rooting for the Texans to win their division. I don’t want there to be any chance we get them in the first round. Anyone else would be a complete dismantling but the Texans would be difficult.

Honestly the best thing is Ravens a two seed and Texans three seed so they likely meet in the second round and we get the Patriots.

If we choke in Mexico against the Chargers- we don't deserve to make the playoffs.

I think we will dominate old man Rivers and even with ridiculous help from the refs- we win this one.

Mahomes needs to win tomorrow to start correcting that prime time record which currently isn’t that great

I think I'm checked out until the post-season. Let Goodell play all of his ratings games....and manufactured drama.

Not interested in watching a repeat of the Chargers game...where the officials just hand a victory over on the last play then apologize with some half-heated rule change...that they never intended to enforce.

In the end...a LA team made the SB...just like I predicted. They had to bend the rules so much...that they offered up challenging PI as a result. Now, they are hoping everyone forgets...like a political news cycle. The ability to challenge will go away next year... Goodell played everyone. He achieved his objective...

Raiders are this year's Chargers...the officiating in the Arrowhead game should be "special".

You've been warned...

scho63 11-18-2019 12:28 AM

We basically pushed ourselves to the edge with the loss to the Titans and no one else is losing.

It's up to us to make the playoffs on our own.

Yup. As usual, it’s everyone else’s fault and some giant conspiracy, instead of your team’s fault. Gotta build up those excuses early before they even play—and lose—the game.

Yup. Their offensive line sucks, they can’t run the ball, and Brady is mediocre. On the other hand, Belichick is still the GOAT, their defense is very good, and they’ve won six Super Bowls, so I like their chances against Fat Andy and the choking Chiefs. Like you guys, I would rather the Patriots not face Baltimore.

You lost to the Titans, Packers, Texans, and Colts, and barely beat the Vikings, Lions, and Ravens, yet typically you talk shit like the Chiefs are undefeated and have won ten Super Bowls in a row.

That’s okay, though. When they lose tomorrow you’ll be right back to talking shit about your own team and how they suck. You talk about Patriots fans but you’re the biggest pink-hat bandwagon fan I’ve ever seen. Even your fellow Chiefs fans here know it.

Playoff seeding is still wide open. So much can happen. Chiefs just need to win out. Win out and worst you can do is win the division and get the 4th seed.

Let us not forget that if our old DC wasn’t so ****ing bland and predictable that Brady and McDaniels were able to make checks no problem in the AFCCG, the Pats would have lost that matchup quite easily, I would say.

On the list of teams that I’d prefer to avoid in January, NE is most definitely not at the top. And I’m really not sure that they’re even 2nd. Kansas City struggles most with mobile QBs.

I think the basis for that optimism is that the Chiefs at full offensive strength - which they haven't been given the patchwork offensive line led by Cam Erving - are basically unstoppable, and we haven't seen that at any point this year aside from the first quarter of the Jacksonville game.

Combine that offense with a defense that's clearly imperfect but arguably improving/somewhat more sound than last year and I think we certainly have the potential to win out.

Just can't beat ourselves.

I think it means very little that the offense is that good with the defense is this bad. So many bad teams have kept it close because of the defense. It means Mahomes has to put up more points. Andy has to learn to manage the clock for once in his life. Offense is the only bright spot of this team, which is a pity because this isn't enough to beat anyone come playoffs.

Do you think we're worse than last year on defense? I don't. And last year that defense shut down a hot Colts team in the playoffs. And - had we gotten the production out of our safeties like Eric Berry that we were paying for - almost certainly would've beaten NE and been in the Super Bowl.

Temper your negativity.

Makes sense. I just feel that "something" (consistent running game) is missing on offense this year that keeps me from subscribing to that theory. I think a big part of that is that this year, with all the injuries, the offense has not been able to evolve into what it needs to be in order to reel off the kind of win streak needed to win out. Who knows, maybe they get healthy and it all gels?

Honestly, if Fisher never goes down, I think it's very reasonable to say we're probably at least 8-2. The entire narrative around this team would be different.

The season kinda begins here.

Pats can't run slants to Edelman and fades to Gronk all day this year.

That's all that beat us last season when we played them. Those two destroying us with simple routes on multiple plays.

This year they have no Gronk, we have excellent safety play and our DC adapts.

Oh...I dont?

I seem to remember a game where Cooper pushed off for a TD, got called for an obvious OPI...then the ref picked it up without explanation. Later that quarter, Carr has a strip sack/fumble negated on a very late phantom DH call...well after he lost the ball...then on replay, the announcers couldn't find it. The Raiders finally won after the officials gave them 3 plays after time has expired.

I have never seen that happen...and probably wont ever again.

I also remember the 0-10 Raiders getting a phantom PI on Parker on a 4th and 12. The game should have been over. Raiders score and the Chiefs drive down to mid-field and get stopped on 3rd down. Half of the Raider bench comes onto the field about 25 yards past the Chiefs huddle...dumb-asses though they had won. The officials had to stop play yet dont throw an excessive celebration/too many players on the field/off-sides...nothing. Refs just kindly escorted them back off the field...

These are Oaklands only two wins over the Ried era chiefs...and both were directly manufactured by sketchy late-game calls by the officials.

So excuse me for pointing out that the Chiefs should be concerned about the refs...unless getting 3 free plays after time expires seems legit to you.

Chiefs hold on D almost every play... been that way for years

OP UPDATE

Chiefs move up to 3 seed

1. Patriots 9-1
2. Ravens 8-2
3. Chiefs 7-4
4. Colts 6-4
5. Bills 7-3
6. Texans 6-4

mr. tegu 11-18-2019 11:54 PM

As I mentioned before, I think we should be hoping for Houston to win that division so we avoid any chance at facing them in the wildcard round. Any other team we could get should be an easy win.

Chiefs will be #4 seed Thursday night. Winner of Texans/Colts will move ahead of them unless they tie, which is unlikely...

After seeing Houston this pass Sunday..they do not scare me.

I don't wanna see the Titans...they sold their soul to beat Andy Reid.

Odds are the Chiefs are gonna see an AFC South team in the playoffs.

If we had the Ravens D, the Texans wouldnt scare me either...

Any team but the Titans. I would rather play Baltimore or New England.

We have beaten the Ravens twice recently. We are in their head as much as NE or TN is in ours.

Can they Ravens beat us? Sure.

Have they beat us? Not yet.

You said the Texans dont scare you after watching the Ravens beat them.

We dont have the defense that the Ravens do, the Texans should scare you.

Have the Texans beat us, yes.

The Texans, Ravens and Pats should all scare you.

Im not worried about the Bills or Colts but the rest will be tough.

Come on, dude.

Mama Hip Rockets 11-19-2019 11:34 AM

The Chiefs will be back in the 4 spot unless the Colts and Texans tie this week.

O.city 11-19-2019 11:39 AM

I'd just be tickled to death to watch the Pats lose the next 3 games.

Feels like a good place to post this.

Oakland is going to lose on Sunday.

I've heard this prediction more than once in the last couple days. Adam Gase and Sam Darnold, no WR really, just L. Bell. I'm genuinely curious: what am I missing?

One of most popular fallacy’s and that is Wishful Thinking....
