Apparently it's somebody named Samantha Ponder as host as well as Tedy Bruschi, Randy Moss, and Rex Ryan, with Hasselbeck recently getting axed. Whether they'll replace any of those others remains to be seen, but I don't see anybody that makes me really go, "Oh, that guy says cool and funny things all the time! It's probably worth my time to watch this!" Only so many times you can get good TV out of a former diva WR, a dick-sucking Patriot blowhard whose only contribution is telling players to do their jobs, and an old man yelling at a cloud because you can't hit QBs anymore. |

Marcus Spears, too. He could be awesome on Countdown, but instead they've got him talking about the Cowboys every day with Stephen A. Unbelievable. They've got the professional chefs showing people to their tables while their dishwashers are trying to make duck a l'orange |

Wow, Kolber has been there like 30 years.

Suzy can come work for me. There will always be a seat for her at my place. :)

Should have dumped Walton ans Vitale
|
ESPN still unwatchable other than the live events?
I'm presuming it is. I liked Kobler. She always seemed reasonable. The few times I saw Young, he seemed to actually know the game. JVG was good. The only time I ever consumed McShay was on Russillo's pod. Maybe he'll have time for more appearances. I don't consume any of his content anymore, but I really liked Jalen Rose. It's remarkable jackasses like Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards, Damien Woody - who has never said anything interesting ****ing ever, Bruschi who is incapable of anything except shilling for Belicheat. Stephen A Smith who is abso****inglutely the worst of the worst in sports broadcasting still have a ****ing job. Meh. |
Knowing ESPN, they’ll give Suzy’s position to Brooke Pryor.

In my mind I erased Vitale, so there is that. |
Any news on that bellend Bart Scott?
He should be fired...Out of a cannon. |
ESPN is going to be ugly for football

ESPN went the way of MTV; got away from what they did and lost their way. |
We need to help find laid off Ashley Brewer a new job.

Meanwhile ESPN keeps Mike Greenberg on their payroll for nearly $20 million/year and he adds nothing of value.

People shit on Malika Andrews but she is as fine as fine gets.

I don't know if they did or not, but I'd get rid of Jay Williams like yesterday. Super duper expendable.

Ninkovich is gone. They made an announcement on ESPN last week iirc. |
Shannon ****ing Sharpe managed to get Chiefs fans to like him by giving effusive praise to our QB. Why can’t Kellerman? Even moreso, because Kellerman was relatively early to the Mahomes party.

I've always had a weird crush on Suzy Kolber.

Outside of college basketball and Monday night football, why in the world would you give that network your time?

People still watch espn?

I used to be an ESPN junkie - now I only watch when forced to, and I know I'm not alone.
What do we think will become of ESPN in the long run?? |

I still watch Sports Center when Scott Van Pelt hosts.
|
SC w/ SVP and the guys on after him are the only shows i consistently watch. Sometimes I watch Get Up! with Greeny, but only very occasionally.
I think the rest of their shows are basically unwatchable. |

I watch PTI every day and ATH during football season and other big sporting events. They're like old friends.
|
Quote:

Guess their break will be longer than 23.5 hours.

ATH was great until about 2016 then they started filling the rolls with the modern day progressive sports journalist and it became as bad as every other espn show.
Long live PTI |
Tony Reali has been playing naive college frat boy for 20 years now - yeah, it's probably time to go ahead and put this out to pasture...
|
PTI is still fine. They seem to be the only show willing to talk baseball and hockey during their respective seasons. At least they offer variety
|
People watch these shows?
|
Oh well.

Time to bring back Stump the Schwab!
God, that was terrible. The Sports Reporters was good stuff back in the day though. |

These days, I might watch Sunday NFL Countdown or one of the other pregame shows on Sunday. More on topic, I will say that I never cared for PtI or AtH. Something about the presentation seemed a bit drab for my liking. I also really only like NFL and a little bit of NBA. Those shows are better suited to sports fans with a more broad spectrum of interests than I have. |
Everything is different now. You don't need any of these shows to find content on whatever interests you. It's commentary about the current landscape as opposed to dogging the shows out at least from my POV.
This is the only place I come for Chiefs content b/c it all aggregates here (& every NFL team has one). & other sites for the college programs I follow. Not to mention podcasts. When I was a kid in the early 90s I'd turn ESPN Thursday CFA on just to catch their swing around the nation segment at halftime for CFB content. Things have changed. All these national shows are worthless IDK how any of them stay on the air. |
Man, i remember about 30 years ago there was some 24-news channel hat played the same shit over and over every 30 minutes. I checked it once I saw the Chiefs sign Tony Casillas so I checked it out all the time and never saw Chiefs shit again.

I mean, espn has done a good job on lots of programming but there is so much damn filler that people just don’t watch anymore. Live sports and pre game got better (adding mcafee, manning cast, etc…). The mcafee podcast will always be kind of a funny relationship since mcafee has so much leverage but it’s a ratings win for espn.
There’s still some decent fantasy football shows and digital segments like Peyton/bellichick content. Weak on sports betting content. That leaves a looootttt of dead air time. |
