What the ****?!?!

The one thing Dorsey sucked at was managing the cap.
|
WTF is goin on here?

This will prove to be a terrible move by the Chiefs, IMO. This could set back the entire franchise, including Patrick Mahomes.
F**K. |

Has that man ever said anything where you though "wow...that's a great deal of insight LeSean, thank you"? Was it the assault charges? The twitter fights? The random accusations of racism? The 'shorties party'? Tell me what it is about LeSean goddamn McCoy that makes him such an outstanding judge of character. What skills has this ****ing idiot demonstrated that makes you comfortable believing that he's a strong judge of executive candidates? Are they similar to the ones that Tony Gonzalez showed off when he backed Tyler goddamn Thigpen as a quarterback? Like I goddamn care what LeSean McCoy thinks about the pizza man, let alone a potential general manager. Guy doesn't know shit about shit - he runs fast or he'd be a grocery bagger somewhere. |

Basically, the Chiefs haven't had a GM who could build a complete roster since the 1970's. Dorsey proved he could do that. The reaction that's followed this announcement makes complete and utter sense. |

Reid didn't want Mahomes?
Keitzman spinning like Dorsey was a fool & made the Mahomes trade without Reid's & Hunt's ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

He had been essentially the GM since 2001. So yeah, no he was not a complete disaster or even close to it as a GM. Posted via Mobile Device |

Pretty much. Man people going off the deep end acting like we just cut Smith and we're left with Palko or something. |

Andy not want a rookie qb?

Reid had to be at least okay with this move or he wouldn't have signed the extension. If it's about the cap, you bring in a better cap specialist. Stunning move. Can't believe it was about Maclin, either. If Reid really wanted to keep Maclin, I just don't think Dorsey would have cut him.
|
If Reid wanted GM duties to stay, then Hunt should have extended Dorsey and let Reid walk. Ugh! I hate this.

Dorsey's name has been mentioned as the successor to Ted Thompson in GB for over a year now. A GM with two years left on deal typically doesn't get mentioned in rumors like that unless there's some truth to them.

Dorsey and Teid report to Hunt. So Hunt would have to be okay with it. They were all in the draft room together
|

Most of the front office is gone since the end of the season some of the scouts too. You tell me what happened I think it's pretty obvious.
Oh look Eagles cast offs http://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2017/...es-promotions/ |

The fact that it was announced simultaneously with the extension isn't a coincidence. Andy didn't just sign off on it, he was the catalyst. |
one step forward, two steps back
same as it ever was. |
Definitely a Reid power move
Put up or shut up andy |

But, IMO, this move, while shocking, shouldn't be unexpected. The Chiefs dumped Trip McCracken and Will Lewis and dumped some scouts. Dorsey has clearly made some errors during his tenure including Dunta Robinson, Vance Walker, Dwayne Bowe, Jeremy Maclin and Mike McGlynn, not to mention being punked by Justin Houston and Eric Berry's agents. Additionally, this firing occurred just two days after it was revealed the Jeremy Maclin played through a groin injury, the same Maclin that was released by Dorsey via voicemail. The Chiefs cap is a disaster, thanks to stupid deals to Tamba Hali (after taking a $4 million dollar cap hit), cutting Jaye Howard just a year after extending him, Maclin's deal, etc. I don't know if the Maclin reveal was the proverbial "Straw that broke the camel's back", but it wouldn't be surprising. I don't know, at this point, how it makes the team better in the short term and long term, but I can understand why it was done, especially if Dorsey had his sights on replacing Ted Thompson eventually. |

Everyone is speculating that Veach will be the next GM. Former Eagles reporters are saying and speculating
|
Well, if we're gonna clean out the front office. Get rid of Mark Donovan too. That guy is a stuffed shirt.

Maclin, the cap issue, the Mahomes trade...none of those explanations make sense. It is either 1) Reid wants to be GM or 2) Dorsey has let it be known he is going back to Green Bay and Reid wants to grab some particular replacement while he's available.
Number 2 seems a stretch. |

I think the opposite might be true. Dorsey was the Smith backer. |

Reid is proven, Dorsey still isn't. He wants to be the guy and that's why the GB rumors popped up. In his previous tenure in Green Bay, he was 3rd in command. With the chiefs he was 3rd in command. Unless you're going to fire Reid, Dorsey was going to leave. Posted via Mobile Device |
did jed york buy the chiefs.
|
The Mahomes theory is dumb. If Andy didn't want Mahomes, he wouldn't have signed the extension to develop him.
|
Maclin fallout.
This just doesn't seem to make any sense. Unbelievable, and I am flabbergasted. |
So Maclin and Dorsey gone. Who's next?

Reid may have wanted Maclin to stay and favored cutting someone else. |
Reid has had full power since day 1. He hired Dorsey. Reid is the one who pushed for the Alex trade. Reid is the one who pushed for Mahomes. Whoever they bring in for GM will be answering to Reid.
Could be that they saw Dorsey as an excellent scout but as a poor manager of the cap and the nuances of negotiation (Emanuel Sanders negotiation, Maclin tampering, Tamba Hali contract snafu, waiting too long on deals for Berry and Houston, cutting Maclin). Or maybe Dorsey wanted more control and they weren't willing to give it to him. Will be interesting to see how this shakes out... |
