Jesus, in the Senior Bowl video his first step is FAST.
|
We went from having a shot at Manziel to reaching for a pretty one dimensional speed rusher. That was soul-wrenching. And the whole situation totally epitomizes the Chiefs.
|
I wonder if they are looking to line up like this on d...
RDE Hali (they tweeted that he weighed in at 280 a week ago) NT Poe LDE Walker LOLB Houston ILB DJ ILB ______ ROLB Ford CB Flowers CB Smith SS Berry FS Abdullah That's a defense that can be extremely disruptive. |

You'll see that your comment is not true. |
Trade Flowers for a 2nd rounder, take Van Noy or Lee?
|
he's an explosive mother****er that's for sure. But He did throw up 30 reps. Though he doesn't look that strong on the field.
|
I blame Pioli and Herm for this. I know this makes no sense, but I really hate those ****ers.
|
Flashes of Dwight Freeney.

No one is going to trade with the Chiefs. We will not get what we want. Accept the curse. We are a ****ed franchise. |

gains 10-15 lbs and he'll be mean, depending on how they use him. he'll be ****ed at the point of attack on the runnning game.

Both have amazing first steps. |

Justin Houston isn't even a top 10 pass rusher. |

It's funny how people assume on paper that a draft pick is going to be an all pro. Looking at a rookies name on a roster just screams unproven to me.

Houston doesn't really have any exceptional qualities, he's just very good at everything. |

I think Hali played around 280 when he was a LDE for us when we ran a 4-3. |

Hali and Houston need to get this kid to learn some counter moves because his first step can be a detriment to him as an overall defender by offenses running underneath his speed rush.
|
Wow, he played a great game against FSU.
He contained, didn't bite on the bootlegs, and demanded a bunch of double teams. |

He was the highest rated OLB in the NFL...even with the injury slowing him down. You don't know what you're watching. |

On top of that he's excellent in coverage... |
Terrible pick. Pick so bad I would have rather chosen Michael Sam.

This kid is going to be good.

I just hope he doesn't join the bulk of last year's draft picks on IR.
|
So essentially trying to force highpower offenses to have to limit trying to spread you out IF he can become a legit guy offenses have to account for if he's lined up. ...?

I'm happy with the pick and he was in my sig list of guys I wanted us to draft. I still wished we could have moved up and taken Manziel...but pass rushers like him are the second most important part of winning football games. |
Watching the FSU tape, wow he looks extremely disciplined. Great contain and doesn't fall for fakes. Great at doing his job.
|
This guy is 6'-2" 240?
That can't be right can it? LMAO |

I had a virgin hard-on for Carr and Manziel, I feel a little let down but not disappointed. |
Per Sean Keeler
Dorsey: Dee Ford was the highest-rated player on #Chiefs' draft board. Was on the team's list of preferred four. |
Per Reid Ferrin
Dee Ford: "I'm going to be in Kansas City tomorrow and looking forward to meeting everyone. I plan to be in Kansas City forever." |
Oh well. Have heard comparisons to Bruce Irvin.
|
Dee Ford w/ some parting words for the @KCChiefs beat writers: "I want to be in Kansas City forever, don't trade me." #laughsallaround

I just wanted ward or dennard more then this guy.

So a guy who missed most of his college eligibility with knee, back and abdominal problems - who several teams had red flagged as undraftable due to medical concerns - was the best player available on our board? What's next, a quadriplegic punter in R3? |
Goddamn his voice doesn't fit a pass rusher.

Wow. It's not even close. |
I will say this: the kid is a playmaker and has proven to be a big factor in games.
I loved his tape and I loved his Senior Bowl performance. He's got a quick burst off the line like Von Miller which is very good. He doesn't give up and he's instinctive with energy and swagger. He even ran a 4.5 and did 29 on the bench which isn't too bad. Only 3 problems with him: 1. He can't stop the run for shit, so he's going to have to work on that this year before completely taking over for Tamba next year. 2. He's not strong enough. Fortunately he can be a big time player without that strength this year. 3. He's a ****ing brokedick. He's been injured multiple times and that doesn't even include his back, which some teams apparently so scared of that they took him OFF their board completely. I think he'll do good things here. I just pray to God he doesn't end up broken. |

I don't doubt the kids' ability. let me be clear (Obama voice)...
but I doubt what he's going to do in our 'current' defense. maybe Sutton has some sort of idea how to flex him etc. he sure as **** isn't a DE in a 3-4. But I like what he brings. let's just hope they use him better than Berrry |
