Here’s the play Mahomes screamed at Steele. Mahomes sees their speed rusher lined up extremely far outside. He know Kingsley as well as no LT can get that angle so he motions to have Steele come to the left to block the DE.
Steele instead runs to the flat to the other side of the field in the flat and gets Mahomes killed. Inexcusable <div style="width:500px;max-width:100%;"><div style="height:0;padding-bottom:56.6%;position:relative;"><iframe width="500" height="283" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;" frameBorder="0" src="https://imgflip.com/embed/99wxbw"></iframe></div><p><a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/99wxbw">via Imgflip</a></p></div> |
He's been playing full back and doing a lot of lead blocking. Especially in the redzone for Hunt. He had a bad game yes but let's not go over the top. Rookies make mistakes. It happens.

I’ve been saying all year Perine needs all of Steeles and some of Kareem’s snaps.

I'll never learn to not get excited over impressive preseason play and training camp darlings.
There's still hope he could develop into an acceptable fullback as long as he learns how the pass block properly and know what Mahomes wants him to do. Or maybe he won't be on the team next year |
He’s awful. Should be exclusively used on STs.
If not for that I would be dressing Clyde. |

He's pretty bad. Not sure what folks were expecting, though, with a UDFA rookie fullback. Perine is fine (albeit otherworldly SLOW), but we need a good speed back in the worst way, IMO.

I mean, he's a rook. And wasn't he undrafted? And now he's trying to get comfortable in the most complicated offense in the league? Just exactly what were some of you expecting in just half a season? Sausage 2.0? Seems kind of overblown to throw him under the bus halfway through his first season.

No conversation needed. The dude is a practice squad player who’s not likely to be anything more.
