I'm kinda willing to trust Andy Reid on this one. And the players who publicly supported EB.

I think enough nonsense has been thrown around about what allegedly went on behind the scenes that the man has been unnecessarily poisoned in a lot of our eyes.

Somehow the fact that he can't get a head coaching job is a major indictment of his ability to be an OC for this team? Have we just continued to bring him back as a charity case? Do we really trust journalists like Nate Taylor who are in the building less than people like Clay/Marty/Bill?

And most importantly, how desperate are we to create a narrative that allows us to understand what happened in the second half of the AFCCG? And why has it been so convenient for all the blame to fall on EB?

I'll trust the organization that has made four straight AFCCGs that they know what they're doing. These guys weren't concerned with optics when they stood by Hill, traded for Frank Clark with his history, signed Josh Gordon, signed DeAndre Baker, signed Damon Arnette, but somehow NOW they're only bringing EB back because they're afraid of the public blowback? For real?

"EB is a Shadow OC"

"Chiefs stripped him of all his power and retained the OC name because of Optics"

"They wanted to hire Nagy, but Nagy didn't want to work with toxic EB"

"The Chiefs players hashed it out and agreed they could work with EB afterall"

"The Chiefs removed 'playcalling authority' from EB's contract"

What other bullshit excuses do you have to save face?

"The nfl ordered the Chiefs to resign him as OC."

The Franchise 02-24-2022 01:22 PM

I’m to believe that the Chiefs have kept EB on for 4 years now so that he could get a HC job….only to bring him back and strip him of his play calling abilities….which would make it almost impossible for him to get a HC job in the future.

We won a Super Bowl with EB we can do it again.

He doesn't have much choice. He is toxic and incompetent the more authority he gets.

Nobody has to know.

I'm certainly willing to trust Reed but it's primarily because I don't blame EB for dysfunction nor do I need an explanation of what happened in the AFCCG. I literally don't care about any of these "stories" because it's just clap trap.

I want a fresh set of eyes. I don't want EB and I don't really want Nagy either. For me, the one big problem with EB is that nobody else wants him. I don't understand why we want somebody nobody else wants. But that's Andy's business, not mine.

Well if true we're stuck with him forever. He will never get a HC job.

Andy Reid, if you’re to be believed, is bringing back a toxic coach who has fought with his most prized players and ****ed up gameplans/play calling…..because? Because he’s loyal.

That’s your genius answer?

Andy Reid's loyalty to bad coaches is a thing.
