He's not a cocky douche. He's incredibly competitve and has absolutely no memory. When he's on, he's completely shut down. He was widely considered the best player on a Washington team that got four guys drafted in the first 44 picks of the 2015 draft.
The problem is, that aggressiveness and confidence and intensity can absolutely boil over. Think Latrell Spreewell. Spreewell was as good as anybody when he was playing and was on, and when he felt that others weren't taking it to that level, he kinda got loose. Peters is like that.
Fortunately, with the Chiefs, he's got a very, very good coaching staff around him and should help him a ton to keep his focus. And it's not like he's a douche. Even though he got booted from Washington, their coaching staff was extremely helpful to Peters during the post season analysis process.
I've watched him play in college and compared him against some pretty good potential NFL corners that have been in the PAC 12 the past couple of years. I can't recall a guy who has the lack of memory that Peters has on the field in respect to getting torched and just going back out the next play and shutting the same QB/WR down completely.
It's his island. And you are not allowed on. At all. No matter how much rent money you think you have.
Dorsey considered him the best potential cover corner of the past four/five drafts and he's probably right. And with a coach like Emmitt Thomas you've got a true Hall of Famer who has walked the walk and can give this kid the support and direction that, combined with his football IQ and skills, could have him as the best cornerback in the league.
