He's not a cocky douche. He's incredibly competitve and has absolutely no memory. When he's on, he's completely shut down. He was widely considered the best player on a Washington team that got four guys drafted in the first 44 picks of the 2015 draft.

The problem is, that aggressiveness and confidence and intensity can absolutely boil over. Think Latrell Spreewell. Spreewell was as good as anybody when he was playing and was on, and when he felt that others weren't taking it to that level, he kinda got loose. Peters is like that.

Fortunately, with the Chiefs, he's got a very, very good coaching staff around him and should help him a ton to keep his focus. And it's not like he's a douche. Even though he got booted from Washington, their coaching staff was extremely helpful to Peters during the post season analysis process.

I've watched him play in college and compared him against some pretty good potential NFL corners that have been in the PAC 12 the past couple of years. I can't recall a guy who has the lack of memory that Peters has on the field in respect to getting torched and just going back out the next play and shutting the same QB/WR down completely.

It's his island. And you are not allowed on. At all. No matter how much rent money you think you have.

Dorsey considered him the best potential cover corner of the past four/five drafts and he's probably right. And with a coach like Emmitt Thomas you've got a true Hall of Famer who has walked the walk and can give this kid the support and direction that, combined with his football IQ and skills, could have him as the best cornerback in the league.

Well then, let's just hope he doesn't try to choke out Andy Reid.

He's a ****ing douche.

If this article were about some Raiders DB you'd all agree.

I'm glad none of our players post on Chiefs Planet, otherwise they might catch the scaredy gay pussy AIDS from you all.

Peters is going to shove his cleat so far up Davante Adams' ass that Adams will die from choking on the laces.

...With the meatball man in attendance lovin every minute of it

He sounds like an asshole. An asshole is different than a douche.

But it's ok. He's OUR asshole.

Pretty sure you have to be a douche to be a top rated CB.

I agree we could use a little swag.

Praying he lives up to the high praise he's getting.

ThaVirus 09-08-2015 10:15 PM

There's a fine line between cocky and confident, I'll admit.

But Peters definitely sounds like a real shithead.

CoMoChief 09-08-2015 10:46 PM

GB has no Oline..we'll tee off on Rodgers.

ThaVirus 09-08-2015 11:35 PM

Huh? Their offensive line is really good.

CoMo is bad, I mean really bad, at watching football.

He's the Paul Fanaika of football viewing.

I've never, ever understood player worship.

Either the guy can play or he can't.

I couldn't care less if he's a "douche" or "asshole" or "****stick".

Do your job and I'll root for you.

As long as your a Chief.

Having a temper can be beneficial at LB or on the DL, but at corner it can cost you badly. Some of the best corners of all time had a calm and cool demeanor (Deion, Champ, Rod Woodson). Peters will be fine when things are going well, but as soon as things start to go badly he'll go on tilt and cost you.
