He would have fit in so well with Greg Wesley.

He's William Bartee's long-lost brother. You should have seen the reunion, they just tackled each other. I mean, they both missed but the thought was there.

Let's see how our starting LT does next year.

In our division the secondary must be exceptionally strong. They need more speed and talent at CB and overhaul at FS.

Kelce may become a useful TE, but they need better frontline talent.

Yup. I was referring to our 2014 starting LT.

That's not unusual. Gonzo had the same issues as a rookie, which is why Ted Popson got so much PT that year. Hopefully Kelce can recover and come along this offseason, because he showed good ability in Cincy. And he is a third rounder, so we need to make sure we hit on those guys.

I suppose the good thing is that the knee happened at the beginning of the year rather than the middle-end, so he's had some good rehab time already I would assume...

It's really hard to expect anything from Kelce at this point. I am starting to feel like tight ends with injury history just never ever ever stay healthy.

Am I missing a six injuries or are people writing him off on the bad knee he's been fighting since the start of the year?

10/13/13 - The Kansas City Chiefs officially placed rookie tight end Travis Kelce on injured reserve on Saturday. Kelce, 24, had microfracture knee surgery this week. Kansas City took Kelce in the third round of the draft out of Cincinnati. To fill Kelce's spot on the roster, the Chiefs promoted rookie safety Bradley McDougald from their practice squad. McDougald, out of Kansas, has played two games but has spent the majority of the season on the practice squad.
09/25/13 - TE Travis Kelce did not practice on Wednesday with the Chiefs as he continues to try to come back from a bruised knee that he suffered on August 24. Kelce was inactive for the last game in Philadelphia.
09/16/13 - TE Travis Kelce continues to battle a knee bruise that he suffered on Aug. 24. Kelce was on the field for a few plays in Sunday's game against Dallas, but he did not take part in the team's limited walkthrough practice on Monday ahead of Thursday night's game in Philadelphia.
09/13/13 - TE Travis Kelce did not practice on Thursday due to a bruised knee. He was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice so he's headed in the wrong director for getting on the field this Sunday against Dallas. Kelce suffered the injury on August 24th in a preseason game against Pittsburgh.
09/10/13 - TE Travis Kelce dressed but did not play in the Chiefs opening game of the regular season against Jacksonville. Kelce has been dealing with a knee bruise that he suffered on August 24th and then re-injured in the team's final preseason game against Green Bay on August 29th.
08/27/13 - TE Travis Kelce returned to practice this week after missing the Chiefs game against Pittsburgh because of a knee bruise that he suffered in the second preseason game.
08/19/13 - TE Travis Kelce, the Chiefs' third-round draft choice, suffered a bruised knee in the game against San Francisco and was not able to return for practice.
04/29/13 - A closer look at the Chiefs' picks: Round 3/63 - Travis Kelce, TE, 6-5, 260, Cincinnati...The former high school quarterback is just developing as a tight end, but he can catch and he can block well enough to get plenty of snaps in coach Andy Reid's offense. The Chiefs say they aren't concerned about his 2010 suspension for a positive drug test. - The Sports Xchange
04/25/13 - DANE BRUGLER'S FINAL 2013 DRAFT BOARD: 30. TE Travis Kelce, Cincinnati (6-5, 255, 5SR)...The younger brother of Eagles center Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce is the top senior tight end in this class, with the strength and speed to be a consistent receiving and blocking threat. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
04/24/13 - 2013 NFL DRAFT RANG'S GANG: TE: Travis Kelce, Cincinnati, 6-5, 250, 4.64...Kelce signed (and played, at times) with the Bearcats as a quarterback and served as the backup to Adrien Robinson (now a member of the New York Giants) so his only season as Cincinnati's starting tight end was in 2012. As such, he's raw and comes with some baggage as he was suspended for the entire 2010 season. Other than top-rated tight end Tyler Eifert, however, Kelce possesses the most intriguing upside of this year's class, boasting size, athleticism, ball skills and physicality. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

So he's injury prone due to a lingering knee issue that's now been surgically addressed. People talk about him like he's the Gronk hurt every other week.

Yes, unlike Knile Davis and Moeaki, I am unaware of any consistent injury history with Kelce. Although knee micro-fracture injuries always come across as scary...

2013 draft, full of glass.

mikey23545 01-08-2014 02:20 PM

I had been impressed by Commings even before the Chiefs drafted him.

He's faster than most any crap we have in the secondary now, and hits like a truck...it was really disappointing to see him get injured. I hope he's back to 100% this next year so we can see what we got in him...

royr17 01-08-2014 02:25 PM

Eric Berry and Sanders Commings basically ran the same times in the combine. Both are 4.40 guys.
