Ahead of the Cowboys? This study was based on Twitter too? Doesn't really make sense. The seahawks I could understand. They have arrogant guys on their team and are always being busted for drugs or some other shit.

It's basically a poll on how spread out your fanbase is.

If there is a high percentage of the fanbase living in the market area, you will score high like KC and Seattle.

If you have fans all across the country like Pittsburgh, you will score lower.

If you have 5 fans total you will end up like Sandy Vagina.

terrible football. Swing passes. Bend and break defense.

InChiefsHeaven 01-04-2014 01:38 PM

Hopefully we win the SB and they all hate us...fine with me!

dumb

The Cheatriots, Raiders, Giants, Donks, and Steelers are only less "hated" because they have huge bandwagon fanbases that extend beyond their home market, let's be real now.

MatriculatingHank 01-04-2014 01:55 PM

No truth to this at all. Most fans don't realize that Kansas City has a team.

Never would have guessed that- especially when they get very little exposure compared to other teams like Dallas - even if they are mediocre at best. Also, don't get the opposite end with San Diego- who have like 3 fans that aren't transplants because San Diego virtually made up of every one moving or being stationed there (military).

Rasputin 01-04-2014 02:25 PM

This must be done on a curve because San Diego Chargers don't even have four fans in their own city.

Actually, now that I'm reading it more closely, it's a measurement of the DIFFERENCE between in-market and out-of-market sentiment, not overall +/-. In other words, there are two possible impacts of each bar:

1. The team is particularly disliked outside its home market.
2. The team is particularly liked inside its home market.

In other words, the Chiefs and Seahawks may be at the top of the list just because their home markets have been REALLY positive about them.

Either way, it's a tough analysis to draw anything meaningful from.

That would make sense - the Chiefs tv market share during games is ungodly high in the KC metro area. They put up numbers you really don't see since decades ago when people only had typically 3 channel options.

I think earlier this year they had a KC rating share that meant of everyone watching tv in the KC area, 2 out 3 tvs were tuned into the Chiefs game.

Chiefs Seahawks Super Bowl would suit me just fine. Old AFCWest revival rivalry renewed.

bowener 01-04-2014 02:43 PM

It would make a bit of sense after this season. Everybody tweeted how big of frauds the Chiefs were every week.

ESPN's poll is much more realistic than twitter.

McBeard 01-06-2014 02:21 PM

That is shocking considering we haven't won shit in years. I tend to hate the dynasty teams the most.

Dave Lane 01-06-2014 02:23 PM

Were number one we're number 1!

Oh wait I guess the Chiefs are really a #2.
