Sci-Fi then Post-Apocalyptic then Horror then Fantasy.
Plus any combination of the 4. |
Historical non-fiction. I'm reading four (!) books right now - two on how societies developed from the 14th century until now, one on the history of the sword, and Ronald Reagan's autobiography.

Sci-fi/Fantasy/Historical Non-fiction...
The Technical stuff ought to be in there somewhere, but it's more of a professional obligation than a pleasure. |
I never learned to read. I just look at the pictures.

I will not read this thread until there is a poll!

I read pr0n and text messages.
That's about it anymore. |
"Classic literature" + historical fiction and 'hard boiled' detective stuff. I used to read a lot of sci-fi & fantasy but they don't make much new stuff I like in those genres. But here's an old one I like:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/8651639/LS...-Darkness-Fall And since I'm sharing - here's a decent 'hard boiled detective' short story I've always liked. The opening paragraph is classic: http://ae-lib.org.ua/texts-c/chandler__red_wind__en.htm |
I cannot stand most of those classics. Things like A Tale of Two Cities and The Great Gatsby and all that. Too damn slow and boring. Maybe I'm just not cultured enough. I remember I tried to read Treasure Island a few years ago. Read 3 paragraphs and got rid of that shit!

I like new journalism style. Hunter S. Thompson and Tom Wolfe as examples.

I enjoy reading defenses. In this respect I am unlike Matt Cassel.
