For what it's worth, my wife is spending the day driving a four hour round trip to see one of her former patients who is in a rehab facility.

She was paralyzed from the neck down in a traffic accident.

She's five years old.

I think a name change is in order to "badnurse".

MODS!!

My friend is the head nurse in a burn unit. She is truly one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. Many nurses can do adequate jobs but it takes someone very special to excel at it.

Your wife sounds like a great lady. I'm sure it is worth the trouble to get a positive reaction from any patient, let alone one so young.

I've had sex with a few nurses, and they all hated their jobs.

Worrying about retirement can do that to ya...

Though also obviously hated their lives and themselves.

I realize some people are bad patients, but you don't know their story. You don't know what they've gone through to be where they are....and all they need is someone to take care of them and care. I know it's a demanding job, since hospitals are understaffed...but try to see them as human beings.

it could be you in that bed and how would you want to be treated?

Pretty much. There's a lot of people out there who hate their jobs. I could care less. It's life. You on the other hand are a nurse, and people depend on you. And it frankly doesn't sound like you give a shit. Please do something else. Anything else that doesn't involve people who need you.

Amen, Ms. Jilly.

Unfortunately, I have had a great deal of experience with hospitals. From UCLA to KUMC and St. Francis in Wichita to Vanderbilt. Trust me. If I can help it, I will never, ever allow myself to be checked into Ms. badgirl's hospital. I don't want to die of a staph infection or from neglect after being served up the incorrect medicine or having an allergic reaction to a treatment.

No thanks.

I can understand your position as I have a hard time showing compassion with ALOT of your posts.

My wife and several relatives are nurses. You're definitely not cut from the same cloth.

The good news is, your job is to wipe asses, change soiled bedding, dump bedpans and give out sponge bath care.

Maybe you are more suited for stocking shelves at Walmart afterall.
