On a side note, don't put sandpaper on there. The dog will hate it and might even quit using it altogether. Additionally it will rot and wear off in a month or two and won't do jack s**t in the winter.

They have several products at your local hardware store specifically for giving a surface traction.

I can assemble that computer, build that ramp and still be able to watch the last 3 quarters of the football game. ;)
