I'm glad I don't have to wonder about the worth of my college when it comes to sports.

Kansas didn't make any calls. Kansas wins. Missouri doesn't win, called the Big 10 and was laughed out the door. The SEC needed towns with population and tv sets because when you really look at it there isn't nearly the people in the South to buy into a network that they're trying to peddle.

The funny thing is that Missouri has done practically nothing for the SEC appeal. The network is still begging cable companies to take them on and it's not happening.

I'd run quick and sign the petition. Hurts doesn't it? To beg to get accepted somewhere and still find out you're worthless.

The old Big East with basketball only schools was destined to fail. They did a 30 for 30 on it. You didn't watch?

I did.
Basketball is second in importance to football. It showed that clearly.

However, you asked the question, and now you want to qualify it, because you were made to look a fool, again. Funny how that works.

No they weren't. Schools of that importance would never join another conference.

What makes me think this? History

Only loser schools move conferences.

If you know history you would realize the Big 12 was created when Texas switched conferences.

lol, no…. Schools need to play both in order for scheduling and seasonal match ups work year in and year out. That was the whole point of the program.

No, two conferences merged. Very different scenario.

You're just making things up, young man. That wasn't the "whole point of the program." The point was (and this has already been hashed over in this thread) that football drives realignment decisions. Basketball just takes the ride. Just ask Jim Boeheim.

And not to rub salt in the wounds but here are the (potential) total amount of subscribers currently for the SEC Network…

ATT U Verse : 5.7 million
Dish Netwok : about 15 million
Google Fiber : so low they won't even publish a number

Not really. After the 4 Texas left there was still 3 schools left that were forced to leave after Texas did.

I suppose the argument could be made that Texas and the other schools left to merge with the Big 8 to form something new with new guidelines, rules, etc.

Different from the idea of these schools leaving to go join the firmly established conference of the PAC-12. The old Southwest teams brought their traditions and business model with them.

I see your point but still think it's very different.
