Are you close to a Sprouts Farmers Market? They sell the ingredients FAR cheaper than a regular grocery store. Bulk garbanzo, Tahini on the cheap, etc...

I seared it, then braised it in the oven for 2 hours. It was actually very good and tender. Loved the bone marrow too!

I got garbanzos for 77c/15oz can and Tahini for 5.89.

Seems decent enough.
