This may be the worst sports related discussion in ChiefsPlanet history. We're legitimately arguing that Cleveland is a sports city that only tolerates winners. They've never been to a Super Bowl, couldn't win a title with the best basketball player of his generation, have a list of choke jobs that no other city could match. The drive, the fumble, the shot. All happened to Cleveland. They didn't even need descriptions, they were so bad they just got one-word names.

The Indians have not won a title since 1948. Cleveland baseball has 10 playoff appearances in 114 years.

This is beyond stupid.

We weren't arguing that, and you're the one who's beyond stupid to not properly read what's actually being argued here.

That's fine. You aren't interested in legitimately discussing things, you just want to troll. And that's fine. The Royals almost have as many playoff appearances as the Indians in about 70 less seasons of play. But even that aside, 10 playoff appearances in 114 seasons of baseball is not a winning culture. You have nothing to back up your argument and aren't interested in having an actual discussion. So there's no point.

I seriously doubt that.

I don't think bringing up events of 50 years ago helps the discussion either. Nobody cares about that far back so why bring it up? Nobody cares about the Royals teams of the 1970s either. We're talking recent history and it's fair to ask why Cleveland's management puts out competitive teams while we can't.

Why isn't that fair to ask? If it's trolling to criticize a teams' management staff then ChiefsPlanet had 8,000 trolls this entire past Chiefs season. Flying banners to fire a GM must be serious trolling!

Alright then, fair enough. Keep moving the goalposts. If that's the argument you'd like to make, let's just look at their recent history.

Cleveland has made the playoffs once in the last 11 seasons. They've had a winning record twice in that period. They've lost 90+ games 3 of the last 4 seasons. Not that impressive.

damn

I thought they constantly rebuilt their team year after year and didn't embrace losing?

hm

Bashing them only makes you look dumber than you already are.

If you aren't winning championships, who gives a shit?

Are you really arguing who sucks less?

Sure, the Indians have fielded some competitive teams, but they have nothing to show for it.

Prison Bitch 05-19-2013 12:18 PM

TK: I never said they were the Yankees, only that their management doesn't struggle like ours has. In the 11 years you reference, they have seasons of 96, 93, 81, 80, 80, and 78 wins. I don't think we've beaten that level even once have we? It's pathetic and we both know it.

Don't forget they are leading the division this year too. How will it turn out? I don't know. But I want to keep asking why their management can do it but ours cannot. And I blame DM for his weird loyalty fetish.

Hootie 05-19-2013 12:19 PM

I don't agree with the championships thing...

I'm sure it was AMAZINGLY fun to be a Braves fan when they won their division every year for a million years in a row.

Championships are the cherry on top...but Tom Brady hasn't won one in nearly a decade and I'm sure it's still really fun to be a Patriots fan...you know, knowing you have a championship caliber team year in and year out.

Hootie 05-19-2013 12:20 PM

Cleveland:

"They don't tolerate losing. They just settle for almost mediocre."

Got it.

Bambi 05-19-2013 12:24 PM

Well at least we made it to May this year!

Prison Bitch 05-19-2013 12:25 PM

Hahah, Hootie if the Royals had the past 10 years Cleveland did you'd be jacking off to lifesize Fatheads of Dayton Moore hanging on your bedroom wall.

clearly Cleveland has had better baseball teams than our terrible franchise the past decade

but no one is arguing that

we're just pointing and laughing at you for saying

"Cleveland doesn't tolerate losing."
