But there is {sigh} a guy on Tigerboard that has been swearing for a couple of days now that this was exactly how it was going to go down, with NEB delaying an announcement until after MU's BOC had it's meeting and approved a move as well.

Please remember that I don't think anyone knows shit about shit, but it's been intriguing to watch him stick to this story that is so far developing as he's said it would.

Eh ****it, I'm still pleding allegience to my new insect overlords, Conference USA.

The problem is his story holds about as much water as a fishing net. IF it was just Nebraska and MU going to the Big10 then yes it might make sense. But everyone knows that isn't going to happen. if MU is going to the big 10 then so are 3 other teams. They can't all be lagging on announcements......

What's their reasoning?

That NEB isn't going alone and wants to be sure MU's coming with (thus almost guaranteeing the death of the Big 12).

There has been no official word that any announcement is being delayed, nor was there ever any word that an announcement was going to be made. All that has been said is that the Regents are meeting today regarding this and there will be a press conference following it. I don't know where this "delay" nonsense is coming from.

"As we walked into this room Nebraskas a member of big 12." Alden said. "I'm not going to speculate."
"there's a lot of strength in league(big 12), I'm confident" regardless of nebraska Alden says.
"when leagues gets to 8 teams that's very problematic," Alden says.

Mizzou AD Mike Alden: No ultimatum, deadline was ever presented to MU.

I still think he's trolling.

With as many people as have thrown shit against the wall, sooner or later someone's going to be right.

But he's the first person to actually have a sequence of events match his. I'm sure it'll be wrong by 5 pm.

Yes.

Same guy that nobody's heard of.

I'm pretty sure he's completely full of shit and has come up with a damn good set of background facts for th hoax (the Big10 lawyer is a good one), but we shall see.

Just ignore the fact that I mentioned it.

{neg reps self for rumor mongering}

I don't know, I thought he was full of crap at first but now i'm not so sure. Guess we'll see.

Lincoln Journal Star is reporting that the press conference is scheduled for 4:45.

Common perception was that the 1p meeting would be to announce the move. He said it wouldn't and that nothing was going to happen until after the MU BOC meeting.

It was pretty starkly opposed to what everyone else was saying at the time but appears to be fairly accurate.

AGAIN: This guy is 90% likely to be as full of shit as the next guy. But he's the first to have had an actual sequence of events follow what he said.

Oh, and he's also saying what I want to hear, so that helps.

Didn't he also say UT would go to the Big Ten first, and MU and NU would follow?

I thought he said NU first, and then MU would be contingent upon UT making the move. But I could be mixing several "sources" together by now, for all I know.
