I like him just as much as anyone but he's still got a long ways to go. We can definitly be excited though.

It has nothing to do with posts about Mahomes or Smith. He's been selective in his posting of tweets. He'll post negative ones about Mahomes and positive ones about Smith.....and just completely ignore the opposite.

I see. I don't even know why people would post much about Smith. We already know what we have there.

Wouldn't know Tyler Bray was second string if he wasn't on the chart let alone the team never hear anything about him.

I think thats a good thing. Especially if they are trying to showcase him in a trade. No fluff article is going to help him, they get him tons of snaps on television and they could flip him to a desperate team (cough Jets)

There's been mixed reports. Sounds like he's still too erratic to amount to much of anything at this point. Like i said, Mahomes should be #2 by preseason week 3.

He has no value. Every team has a "Bray" on their roster. He has to be on absolute fire this preseason and we'd still be lucky to net any trade value. And from what's been written, it doesn't sound likely to happen.

That's exactly my fear based on what I saw at camp. He made some good throws but some very erratic ones that in games would get our guys killed. I don't want him on the field at all for regular season & Patrick made awesome throws in comparison.

I don't know how well Patrick knows the offense but he could be in shotgun and pick teams apart if he has too.

Yeah it's kinda sad for him. He tweets all the time and a lot of the time nobody likes it or replies. He's basically just talking to himself.

But hey 810 college intern Josh Brisco lets him on his radio show on the weekends.

Mahomes looks so natural throwing downfield with such accuracy and timing. It looks so easy for him.

Holds the ball too long but like someone said before he can be like Rodgers. Will he get be probably not but they do compete him to Rodgers and Favre. Dorsey was from Green Bay. He knew he had a star when he drafted Patrick

There is definitely a high swing of bias towards all things Mahomes but it's understandable. It does however make it very difficult to take any personal observations by posters at face value.

As for Penbrook, the problem is that he has a clear agenda. He isn't the only one and there have obviously been plenty of agendas over the years here.

I personally find it more annoying when a poster is trying to pretend they don't have an agenda, which typically tends to be the status quo defenders but that's just my opinion. Both ends of the spectrum tend to be annoying.

I'm not sure if it's his age that makes him think he is being subtle or if he is trying to troll, but the agenda is there. Whatever the reason he is devaluing himself as a poster. In the end it's not hard to ignore a post or take it at the hollow value it holds.

I have called Patrick a star. I have never once said he sucked. I have said that Smitty is the best QB on the team and that's the truth. He needs time to sit and learn. It's not my fault that some posters on CP are blind to the truth. I refer to those people as libs. People who are blinded by the truth.

Eh there is more to your posts than that simple statement and you are well aware of that. I have no issues with the argument that he isn't ready or that people are thinking he is more polished than he is. I tend to agree. But your selective quotes and narratives that follow are clearly there.

I'm aware that you are happy to see Mahomes in the future. You are just crossing over into the overwhelming line as of late. You don't just think it's logical that Smith should start, it is what you want to happen even if the skills said otherwise and it's showing. The selective news is what has annoyed people.

I do like Smitty. Do I like him as much as Tiger, probably not. Do I wish Smitty will take more shots down field of course. Whether it's next year or 3 years from now Patrick will be the starter and I expect him to be a star right out of the gate ala Rodgers.

You're not tiger. Nobody is. I'm not even sure he is his own person. Tiger is here for attention and will say anything to get it and people seem happy to give it to him. I just think you need to tone back the narrative if you want people to take you as being an objective observer.

This would go to so many people here, no? yet you are politely calling out one of the few who may have a current preference of Smith instead of Mahomes?

The word agenda feels extreme. The primary agenda is KC success... yet with that said, I think it's common and fair for individual fans to have a preference for how that success is achieved.

To say he doesn't throw as much TDs as a lot of QBs in the NFL would be more accurate but you would also have to include the fact he throws less INTs than most as well and he knows how to manage the game.

You also have to admit he is dangerous with his feet and it is something defenses have to account for.

The correct phrase would be, "he WAS dangerous with his feet".
Did you not get the game feed last season? Satellite dishes on the blink, Pennsyltucky?
Defenses don't have to account for shit in regards to Smith's legs.

And beyond Tight End and Ty Hill, they might as well sit on the ****ing side line eating nachos.

CP will be disappointed. Thats a top 10 o-line if Hunt is any good and Ware plays like the JAG he is and not the guy the last half of the season last year this offense is going to be pretty good with Smith as the QB.

The word agenda feels extreme. The primary agenda is KC success... yet with that said, I think it's common and fair for individual fans to have a preference for how that success is achieved.

Sure. And there are plenty that if called out would make a federal case of it which makes it not worth the fight. He seemed surprised by the comments which made me interested in responding.

This makes me sad if true I still like him and wish him best in retirement.

I loved the pick 6 at the black hole and flexing in front of all the criminals in the stands.

I wish Chiefs never let him go.

Wow.

Pretty ****ing simple, yes? (And no skirt-blowing video required!)

It's called QB spy you dumb m******er.. Defenses played him different last year but they still had to respect his running ability and he still got 5 rushing TDs which is no small accomplishment.

PAChiefsGuy one of the few guys with common sense in this thread

It was more than that. You really think defenses waited until last year to role out qb spy on Alex Smith?

He pulled back on his running due to the injury or whatever reason and it hurt the offense. I think anyone that watched him last season knows that he was not taking all his opportunities. It's one of his bigger weapons and if the 2017 chiefs want to score on a consistent pace he will need to again.

To say he doesn't throw as much TDs as a lot of QBs in the NFL would be more accurate but you would also have to include the fact he throws less INTs than most as well and he knows how to manage the game.

You also have to admit he is dangerous with his feet and it is something defenses have to account for.

That's being objective something you sentimental Alex Smith haters clearly do not understand how to do.

Starting QBs who threw fewer INTs per game than Alex Smith's 8 in 15 games (minimum 8 games started):

Tom Brady (2 INTs in 12 games)
Cody Kessler (2 INTs in 9 games)
Colin Kaepernick (4 INTs in 12 games) LMAO
Dak Prescott (4 INTs in 16 games)
Sam Bradford (5 INTs in 15 games)
Derek Carr (6 INTs in 15 games)
Tyrod Taylor (6 INTs in 15 games)
Aaron Rodgers (7 INTs in 16 games)
Matt Ryan (7 INTs in 16 games)
Andy Dalton (8 INTs in 16 games)

And I'm probably missing some other guys.

Alex Smith was nothing special in the INT department. That's 10 other starting QBs who had a better INT:game ratio than Alex.

Alex is out of excuses. He can't even crack top 5 in protecting the football. He's garbage.

They aren't major. Jets lost their #1 receiver today for the season. To put in perspective Albert Wilson has more receiving yards than any WR on the Jets

Sandy Vagina 08-07-2017 08:44 PM

also read on AP training camp info that Logan is hobbled. :(

Until they are serious, no.

We still have four weeks to go I'm not so worried about those guys until it's close to playing the Pats and they aren't practicing but right now no.
