Kirkland Murica vodka and Minute Maid strawberry lemonade.

cooper barrett 04-04-2021 05:39 AM

. Good choice

but kill the Minute maid/ Coke fake juice.(CONTAINS PURE FILTERED WATER, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, LEMON JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE, LESS THAN 1% OF: STRAWBERRY JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE)

I've got Sam's lemonade (11%) juice)and will be adding mixed berries with it for a twist. I prefer the "Rance Vodka for a few $$ more.

Just so you know I did the combine measurement and these are some 9 7/8" mitts, so if you need a heavy hand to help you knockout some folks in line tomorrow for acting a fool, lmk.

They make some world class beers from little Decorah, Iowa, population ~7000.

I've had a couple of their stouts lately and have been blown away.

Pablo 05-15-2021 08:59 PM

Lol it was so good I had to look up the town and their other beers. They’ve gotta be a powerhouse if that’s their on tap seasonal. Thanks for the suggestions and confirmation gents. I’ll be seeking out their products.

ChiefAshhole1056 05-15-2021 09:04 PM

An El Matón Pasión (essentially a brandy margarita) at a local bar. Never heard of it before but a different taste profile than what You typically have with margs. Not mad at it.

3:2 tequila to syrup and then top with a couple oz of club soda. This shit is delicious. I've had another one of this company's syrups from a gift pack my wife got from her work and it was very good, bloode orange IIRC. Saw this one at a shop on the plaza and had to try it. Gonna try it with vodka and maybe bourbon to see how it works across all fronts, just figured blanco tequila would be an appropriate starting point.

Tried a Rye on Rye Maple today... zero expectations on the maple part, as Blvd just doesn't do seriously bold flavored beer, but it was solid. Pretty similar to BBQ, and of course very light on the maple.

I have another 200+ peaches this year. Last year was peach brandy, which turned out okay. I threw a bunch into a bottle of vodka the other day and it turned out great, and only after ~24 hours.

And the peach salsa, peach bread, peach cobbler, peach daiquiris.... might try something with one of the 'meh' bottles of bourbon.

That's awesome! I love peach trees and I killed two of them. It's the darndest thing.

I think the bourbon idea would be fantastic. Use something lower level but not trash.....I'd suggest a higher alcohol content like Wild Turkey for the peaches.

sugar to taste (not much, I prefer sour)

I have some Russell's Reserve that I don't really care for, but as far as higher proof that I'd rather mix, it would come down to some Wilderness Trail or a Savage & Cooke that came with a Blanton's deal. :hmmm:

LMAO

I figured at least one of those would be sacrilegious.

I picked up a bottle as part of a Flaviar subscription gift with higher expectations, but just not into it. I've also heard really good things about Wilderness Trail, but seems too.... new.

You're a bad influence lew. I got a hankering for something citrusy and threw together a whiskey sour. Can't remember the last time I ordered one out and can't say I've ever made one at home.

Maker's isn't my go-to but it was a bday present from the in-laws so I don't feel too bad using it as a mixing bourbon.

That's what great about bourbon/whiskey. Lots of flavor profiles that appeal to different people.

Use the Russell's for the peaches then. That would be good since it IS a good bourbon.

I LOVE whiskey sours, drink tons of them at home, but restaurants add that shitty mix to them.

3oz bourbon
Juice from 1 large lemon or 2 small
Agave Nectar 1-2 tsp
1 Egg White (frothy)

Shake and strain. That's the way to make one next time. The best whiskey to use for a sour is a rye whiskey as it has more bite.

I saw a recipe that called for egg whites and I just didn't feel like Rocky today so I omitted that but the next go-round I'll do it to it.

I just did a lemon and an oz of simple syrup. Good call on the rye too, I have some Knob Creek Rye in the cabinet.

I was just there last week, but was in the middle of a work day on the way back from Rocky Point. They have a couple of really good Bottle Logics on tap, and their pizza and street tacos are always on point.

Yeah, and I've only been experimenting with bourbon for the past year or so, so I feel like I still have a fairly limited taste for it... I've found a few favorites, but still developing a palette for it overall.

We'll see how it goes, this shit could be dangerous.
