Because in a couple of years, his contract will be a steal. If we keep restructuring it....it'll just keep getting more and more expensive every season moving forward.

Veach probably had the plan of extending Hill to gain cap space right now and an OBJ deal this summer to have money to sign all of the draft picks. When the Hill deal fell through, it opened up cap space that way.

Hill made it very clear at his press conference that Miami was his home and they gave him the money he wanted. Veach did what he could do. Giving Hill that much money would have choked the roster to nothing.
