I hate Goose Island for doing the Black Friday thing, but it's obviously good enough for a quick stop by the beer store... should be plenty available here and they're going to have all the variants.
Met a guy here who is pretty hardcore, will stand in line or drive several hours for rare beer... he partly buys for the scarcity factor. I'm pretty much over that though (and BCS isn't even that hard to find). Missouri/Kansas family brought me some Crown Valley Pumpkin Smash, Dragon's Milk, and the Dragon's Milk Reserve Banana Coconut. PBJ |

My store back home in Louisiana got the regular, vanilla, and Wheatwine. They set aside a bottle of each for me. 1pp. I'm gonna see if the wife can buy a second of the two variants just so I can try one and stash one. |

A 4 pack of orange, a couple vanilla, a couple coffee barleywine, rye, and some original... no lines or fuss about limits.

Picked up a couple bottles at the local store. May stop by tomorrow and grab a couple more.

I got to enjoy a sampler of all the offerings, drank a couple of the reserve and brought home 4 bottles... killer afternoon

I got a growler filled with STONE Brewing/FEAR.MOVIE.LIONS unfiltered DOUBLE IPA and was surprised how much I liked it.

Midnight Orange is the biggest surprise for me. Not only does it sound like a tween goth kid came up with the name, I've never been a fan of orange and chocolate together, but they nailed the chocolate in this. Vanilla on the other hand, biggest disappointment. It has an overpowering artificial taste, even though I know they used a ton of real vanilla. This one is more for them pastrybois. I'll likely store my Vanilla until I hear word its mellowed a bit. That said, the wife and I did a cuvée of Orange and Vanilla and it had a nice creamsicle thing going that was pretty fun to drink.
My personal favs based on couple oz pours yesterday: Reserve Prop Wheatwine Midnight Orange Regular Coffee Barleywine Vanilla Bramble Rye |
I felt the same about the rye, the coffee barleywine was actually very good as it warmed as was the orange. Haven't had the wheat either.....
I didn't get to try the Prop, but when clearing out some electronics gear from my trunk this morning, I found that my friend slipped me a boxed reserve when I wasn't looking...I better check my tool box... |
Sitting in a mother****ing WHOLE FOODS of all places on vacation in Washington DC enjoying a 4 oz pour of the Orange. They were out of Vanilla. Can get a 64 oz growler of the standard for $30.
