OK guys another update on the great hope as Clark's Indiana Fever LOST to fellow strugglers the LA Sparks tonight. Clark put up her best points output of the season with 30 points. However the devil is in the details as she had SEVEN turnovers AGAIN, and only shot 3/10 from three with half of her points coming from the free throw line. To be fair she was better defensively with three steals and three blocks but those turnovers are a killer.

Oh course the haters will be grabbing their tissue boxes and crying again but I think I was very fair with this report. Great getting 30 points, better defensively but she leads the league in turnovers with 44 giveaways. Not good.

So haters that's all from me tonight. You now have my permission to stamp your feet and start blubbering :D

You're kind of cherry picking your stats on a nightly basis to fit your narrative. Angel Reese is a very good player. So is Caitlin Clark. For example, free throws on this game. And double-doubles.

Reese has also benefited from the free throw line on some of her point totals. In fact a higher percent of her points come from the free throw line than it does for Clark.

And they both have one career double-double. Close doesn't count. If close counts, then you would have to say Clark has a triple-double (which she doesn't).

To be fair, a lot of those turnovers are because of her teammates, so many of her passes are being mishandled, hopefully her teammates will catch up to her Pete Maravich level of passing/anticipation skills that have never been seen in the history WNBA.

Reese is a great defender and rebounder who gets most of her points in the paint hence why she gets to the line so often. So she's doing exactly what she's good at. Clark is failing from three right now and with the turnovers. If those two improve then Clark will no doubt silence the doubters.

She had a high turnover rate in college too so it's been a trend tbh.

Because she handles the ball all the time. You are being intentionally obtuse on this because it doesn't fit your narrative. It's like counting missed shots from a superstar to prove that they are in fact bad. You look at shooting percentage instead.

And with turnovers you look at assist to turnover ratio and what do you know?

Quote:

According to WNBA Stats, Natasha Cloud of Phoenix, Alyssa Thomas of Connecticut, and Jackie Young of Las Vegas are the top three WNBA players for assist-to-turnover ratio for the 2024 season, with ratios of 8.8, 7.8, and 7.8, respectively. Caitlin Clark of Indiana and Skylar Diggins-Smith of Seattle are also among the leaders, with ratios of 6.3 and 6.2, respectively.

Pablo 05-29-2024 11:46 AM

Reese can't be trusted to handle the ball much.

You mean you aren't tuning into the WNBA to watch a player archetype that is present on nearly every single team since the beginning of when basketball was invented? Come on man defense, rebounding, and 3 foot shots are THE FUTURE.

Bwahaha are you really over here trying to justify FORTY-FOUR turnovers in just EIGHT GAMES?? ROFL there are plenty of other players who hold the ball a lot and don't have that many giveaways. IT'S NOT GOOD. Nomatter how much you wanna sugarcoat it.

Hypothetical here, but does she take the same Iowa team that Clark was on to two Women's Championship Game appearances? This is without Clark, not with her.

Clark is a rookie getting face guarded, full court pressed, double teamed for 4 quarters. And she's playing pretty much 40 minutes a game because her team is a disaster when she sits. And to milk everything out of her, the team has for some weird reason played 8 games in two weeks including a few consecutive west coast road games.

Cut the kid a break. She's done well enough . Of course she shoild and can be better. Not that it matters since the only way she can appease some of her critics is to change her skin color.

ToxSocks 05-29-2024 04:01 PM

If Clark wasn't white, no one would care about the WNBA.

Latest update on our friend Caitlin.

Clark scored 20 points and got a technical for getting into a confrontation in Indiana's 15 point loss to Seattle. She also had seven assists but once again THE TURNOVERS were in full effect as she had another SEVEN tonight to take her tally up to 51 in nine games. She was also 3/8 from three which means she's gone six games without hitting more than three 3's in a game. She also had a minus 13 rating for the game.

I keep telling ya'll the turnovers are killers. If she can get a grip on them her team might just start to win some games.

And guess who she's playing next? the Queen that is ANGEL REESE!!..can't wait o:-)

She's averaging almost 18 pts, 6 assists, 5 RBs as a rookie with 1 month to prepare against a league that is playing defense on her like she's Jordan. She's doing about as well as you'd expect even a great player to play.

Lol, wait, wut? Your saying that to be a great player she has to be a great defender? Where does anyone credible say that? There’s literally dozens of past NBA players that weren’t good defenders but were considered among the best players based solely on their offensive abilities.

You seem to want to base efficiency numbers based on NBA type stats. WBNA is a lot less efficient accrossed the board about 7% accross the board. Given the defensive attention she is drawing, the number of games they were scheduled and her coming off of a long colleage season she is doing amazing to be right around league average.

But it is the WNBA and absent watching Clark play is still unwatchable. You can see better athleticism then your girl from LSU at any local Y at noon.

Having watched some of the women's college bball tourney and my first taste of the wnba here's what I gathered.

The wnba is boring. It's like watching a bunch of lu dorts with a bill cartwright jump shot. They're all big and physical, and the refs don't really call anything. To their credit they're not flopping like soccer or the nba. Even sharpshooters like plum are kind of brawlers with a deadly accurate push shot. It just ain't for me. So I hope Caitlin doesn't change her game. She's quick and fluid in ways others are not and that's why she's popular. Bueckers and juju Watkins in college will bring that same dynamic. Even angel reeses ex teammate flau'jae.

And the old guard needs to shut the **** up and understand it's that old brand of basketball that bores everyone. That's why I have zero interest in wnba games that don't involve clark.

She even got a British guy to watch her at like 3 in the morning and break down her tape

Still gotta be better than watching soccer

Lil Booger acting like he's watched every game and is some expert on rating defenders in women's basketball. Break down some tape for me. Show me where she's been bad defensively. Show me some good defensive possessions from that one clown you keep slobbering all over because she's black and you hate white people.

Watching the game today and her Fever teammates aren't exactly sharp shooters.

That’s an understatement. Wow!!!

Coogs 06-01-2024 10:27 AM

This game should be on the verge of a blowout right now.

Coogs 06-01-2024 10:38 AM

I’ve only watched about 10 minutes. Clark is obviously the best player on the floor. Her teammates might not be much better than a mediocre college team.

She's got a bunch of fat Boomers here watching and talking about the WNBA.

These guys need to turn that shit off and hit the gym

Clark with nice passes for her teammates providing a wide-open jumpers, layups or threes and they clank it off the rim.

WNBA fundamentals are ****ing horrible.
