I’m certainly no Bengals expert but I have watched three of their games this year and the O line was certainly a problem.

Furious George got his before they had their wonderful O-Line upgrade with OBJ. So now Burrow who was sacked 41 times last year is only on pace to take 34 this year. What an upgrade that guy has been. LMAO BTW, Mahomes is on pace to take 8.5 sacks this season

if you're just talking about this season I don't know. The Giants aren't trying to win a SB. The Bengals have a simple solution they're too stupid to use.

Shit long term maybe I'm not sure. The Bengals will be fortunate if they don't Andrew Luck their QB

Yeah he knows hes not right. Bengals have to shut him down. How hard is it to just throw jump balls to Jamarr Chase anyway? The backup can do that.

He got advice from Aaron Rodgers. I bet Aaron warned him about that aspect of the calf problem. Gonna be in his head until the calf is healthy. But if they don’t let him rest, will the calf ever get healthy this year? Questionable situation.

Wallcrawler 10-03-2023 01:08 PM

I just don't see how you put 219 million guaranteed out there when he's clearly compromised.

Sit the guy. If it tanks your season so what. If you let this guy go out there and get wrecked, you put future seasons at risk as well.

If he was lighting it up and losing, sure if he wants to play let him.

But he's stinking up the joint and risking major injury.

He could have ridden the bench, gotten healthy, and they could be 1-3 with him coming back at full strength.

Maybe they aren't 1-3 if the backup can actually move.

If Joe Burrow gets wrecked, it'll be the dumbest thing since Jim Irsays mishandling of Andrew Luck.

I saw one post on the Bengals forum that wondered if the notoriously frugal Cincy owner is demanding that Burrow play since they are shelling out $45 million to Burrow this year. "If you can walk, you're playing. Period."

The problem of course is what you said about injuries for future seasons. They have to pay Burrow $65 million in 2024. If I was the owner, I would rather get Burrow 100% healthy for 2024 instead of worrying about this year. If nothing else, they can get a really good Draft pick if the backup QB struggles in a big way.

According to Over The Cap’s Nick Korte, the Chiefs are projected to receive two fifth-round compensatory picks in the 2024 NFL draft as a result of their free agents gained and lost. Kansas City has lost six qualifying compensatory free agents. Meanwhile, the team has gained four qualifying compensatory free agents.

Or what? Can't threaten the contract, can't cut him, what's the owner going to do?

How they sliced it

Contracts for Brown Jr., Wylie, Hardman and Saunders cancel out the contracts for Taylor, Omenihu, Tranquil and Edwards in the compensatory pick formula, leaving Kansas City with two projected fifth-round picks for the departures of Smith-Schuster and Thornhill.

Yeah but if the Chiefs had signed more free agents they wouldn't have gotten any comp picks.

Ergo, Brown's loss contributed to us receiving a comp pick for destroying Joe Burrow. o:-)
