It's funny, I know this is mostly tongue in cheek... but I was talking about BWJ today, thinking about his time in the minors. What applies to one, doesn't necessarily apply to another...

But...

BWJ played exactly 161 games of minor league ball. Got a taste of rookie ball the year he was drafted in '19. 2020 was wiped out due to Covid, though he did play around with others in whatever jackwagon thing they had happening during that shitshow of a year. And then he split 2021 between AA and AAA before making the team for good out of ST in 2022. This is after getting drafted out of HIGH SCHOOL. That's insane.

Just a little food for thought as we satiate over what could be with Jac... I mean, it's not like all of our hopes and dreams rest on his shoulders or anything...;)

Kyle Wright (shoulder, hamstring) will face hitters on Thursday in a live batting practice session.

Wright was shelved early in camp with a mild hamstring strain and is just getting back to facing hitters again. The 29-year-old righty will likely open the regular season on the injured list, but figures to be an option for Kansas City’s rotation mix in the near future. It’ll presumably be Kris Bubic opening the year in the fifth starter spot with Daniel Lynch IV moving to the bullpen.

I didn't realize he had already injured himself again.

I know it’s Spring Training in Mesa… 3 games left but Regan’s throwing 97 and getting hammered. A’s using him for BP. 6-1 A’s in the 3rd.

Royals trade for Canha

There's an OF. Royals tried to get Canha a year or two ago. He's 36 now and he hasn't had a good spring.

His power has slipped the last couple years but he takes walks. A positive move in that respect, he still hit pretty well against lefties last year and he'll get on base.

nychief 03-22-2025 08:13 AM

Canha is a smart move, he can still get on base - essentially has the contract we offered Duvall - and they are similar players. He can still hit lefties and take a walk... should be a nice 4/5 outfielder.
