That being said, I know you're in the Houston area, if the Southern Star Blood Belt is the can you've tried, I wouldn't judge off of that one. I swear the blood orange in there is fake. It has a Hawaiian punch taste to it. |

While I'm talking KC area trades, I'm looking for the 31 Heroes release from Torn Label in a couple of weeks, along with one of the 31 Heroes glasses, or just a Torn Label glass in general.
I'm down to trade Ghost or some other Louisiana beer for it. I've got a couple cans of fresh Jucifer left. |
I'm still about 50/50 on liquor store/brewery purchases. Most brewers here do a really good job of making their stuff available at the brewery and distributing to stores around the city to get it into as many hands as possible, even their limited releases.
I've been stocking 4pks of fresh TG Psuedo Sue at $7.99 all summer to offset the $15-18 4pks of special or rotating releases. With our +11% sales tax, 4pks can reach $20 pretty quickly. I love NEIPAs, but it's pretty rare that I'm able to take down a 4pk of the same one by myself, so I like to drink a couple and share or trade the others for something outside my market or were in-market that I may have missed. |
Phoenix beerfest highlights...
AleSmith Barrel Aged Speedway Stout... don't remember the regular stuff being all that great, but this was fantastic. Ironfire Last Rites Stout Clown Shoes North of Sonora Porter Four Peaks Sirius Black Stout McFate Shot in the Arm Stout Prescott Brewery Achoco Loco... surprisingly, a top ~3 favorite. 8 bit Aleworks had cereal themed beer... Cocoa Pebbles, Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Reese's.... but, they were the most disappointing of the bunch. |

Now I'm saddled with an infant and barely leave the house. He's going to be added to my CP hate list here pretty soon and I'll post about it in that other thread. |

Indoors no less, that had to be great. How many people would you say were there? Good food to eat as well with all that beer? The bathrooms must have been REALLY busy....ROFL |

For all the fellow CP members who attended the last two meetups.......:D
Had this last week. Pretty good. |

They had 'small bites' from several places, it was good food. They had games like tug of war and a giant cornhole game with throw pillows. None of the lines were long or slow (didn't see lines forming around the bathrooms either). They give you 20 tickets for 4oz pours (most of them were actually 4 oz, too)... I'm sure they do that so they can jack up the price ($65, IIRC), knowing you're not going to drink that much (at least not the beer I drink). It was a great time, I'd definitely do it again.... but, maybe show up an hour early or late though. |
For you Bourbon County folks, the actual 2018 lineup has been released. Of note to me is the Coffee Barleywine. I can already hear the NillaBroz swarming with the return of Vanilla.

A few of them do sounds pretty damn good though, at least the regular stuff has been easy to find the past couple years here, still have some from two years ago and last year sitting around. |
