A good spicy dish is like a dip in the hot tub. Body all relaxed and brain blissed out.

That's why I put up with the depredations it puts on my sweat glands.

Oh gee, I've never noticed that effect. I just remember screamin' for a cold glass of ice-water to douse out the burning sensation where I can't even taste the underlying food it's spicing up.

Nope.

Come on lew, you've got more common sense and logic than that as the only possibility.

You ate something stupid then.

Well I don't eat painful stuff lol. That Burnin Love burger is perfect. It's really not bad, has a little heat but very tolerable.

Do they put the roasted jalapeno on top [whole, above the bun]?

If so how does that spark your meter?

The ones I've had were pretty darn hot for a jalapeno.

Pretty hot for something you can get at a restaurant for that matter.

No it was just something with hot chili in it. I think once it was Thai and another time Mexican. I order the mild salsa in a Mexican restaurant. But I can tolerate the medium...I just prefer a more tomato taste to dominate.

BL, I wasn't claiming some endorphin rush it's my mouth that winds up burning on fire.

You left some hillbilly on the side of the road and kicked him to the curb permanently a long time ago. Only after he seeded you a great child. You then came to find a new man later in life but you would not legally bind yourself to the constraints that once challenged your every fiber.

That or you're a lesbian?

Give me hot salsa and add extra jalapenos. I like to sweat when I eat and the farts smell that much worse under the covers for my wife.

Seriously? You are hilarious. But I'll let you believe that.

Understandable. I have a friend who's the same way, he thinks Tabasco is the spiciest stuff ever. I'm Portuguese, so bring on the heat :thumb:

****, now I really confused myself and it's really none of my business anyway. I hope he treats you well and isn't like Jameis Winston.

The pain in your mouth is what releases the endorphins. Much the same mechanism as runner's high, where you get euphoric when your muscles really start to burn from the exercise.

Your brain senses the pain and releases pleasurable chemicals in your brain to mask it.

Lucky for me, the mouth burn and sweat are my only side effects. I've never been dyspeptic once I consumed the food. No upset stomach or burning shits. That stuff is my digestive system's bitch.

Speaking of Thai, one of my favorites is Larb. It's minced steak simmered in a thin brown Thai chili fish sauce with rice powder. Just the right amount of pure, non-vinegary heat.

I tend to prefer non vinegary heat these days. Just the chilis without the vinegar pickling like Tobasco or canned jalapenos. That's why I like the Scorpion pepper salt. It's a dry savory heat.

Oh I get that from eating chocolate, sniffing lavendar or vanilla or sex.
