But once guys get into these cycles, they usually end up signing pretty late.

Nobody's eager to make sure he doesn't leave the building without the offer he's asking for. Which typically means he's asking for too much.

Key has never seen a substantial payday. He's going to want to get his bag (and I don't blame him).

If we sign him I'm betting most people won't like the terms. I guess we'll see.

He doesn't seem eager to get things wrapped up though.

Would love Arden Key. Think Spags could do a lot for him next to Chris Jones

He’s a situational pass rusher that hasn’t been a starter since his rookie year and has 9.5 career sacks in 4 years…6.5 of them coming last year and from the inside on stunts beating guards…which brings value. His run defense grades aren’t good, even though he’s had really good coaching. Now, he’s going from team to team trying to get his firm payday.

Trying to be realistic, it seems like a guy that very well could get overpaid and underproduce.

I sure hope I’m wrong.
