And outside of it being a pretty lackluster ending to the story they've been telling, not sure what all the fuss is about. Cody is much better as a heel. He's pretentious and over the top even as a face, and as we've already seen in AEW, the crowd WILL turn on this character. Hell, they're really lucky they had KO and the Usos to put Sami with or there would've been a revolt already.

It's MJF doing the same program, ad nauseum, with whatever midcarder is hot at the time while all the main event talent is tied up doing stupid 'trios' matches. The most entertaining shit happens behind the curtain.
|
Really? There were a good handful of matches this weekend that blow anything AEW has put on recently out of the water, with the exception being Vikingo going full reerun.

Kenny Omega has had some ****ing bangers in the last few weeks alone. There are a lot of issues with AEW currently, but match quality isn't something I'd harp on. |
Tonight's RAW will open with an announcement from Triple H. May be about the sale/merger or something else.

Seriously, you've got Omega, Young Bucks, Ambrose, Danielson, Black, and Jericho all tied up in this stupid ass division currently. Khan got a wild hair up his ass about legitimizing those titles and he's letting all the other titles suffer stagnation for it.
|
I don't see a problem with the trios match as long as they aren't tying teams to the titles for a long period of time. I feel the people that complain about it will also complain that WWE doesn't give a shit about the tag titles.
The bigger issues with AEW is a way too bloated roster, minimal character development and too many cooks in the kitchen funking things up (Young Bucks, Jericho) by leaking shit to dirt sheets. I think they were counting on RoH getting a TV contract to deal with the bloat, but it seems the Briscoes thing made that hard. |
The problem is the titles shouldn't even exist in the first place. You've already got too many belts that are essentially worthless props, you didn't need to add yet another. At the very least WWE is TRYING to make their belts mean something nowadays by having the champions hold onto them for longer than a few months at a time.

It's a vehicle to get guys on TV more because they have a bloated ass roster.
The matches themselves are fine, but they fact they have to rely on lots of teams and stables to get everyone on TV is the issue. |
