Calf or no that offensive line is gonna get Burrow killed playing like they currently are. Perhaps they just need to gel, but they are not good right now and the current prospects don’t look promising.

Whether they sit Burrow or not, the results with what they have backing up, will be the same. At least he won't need to knock off any rust when the calf heals.

Correct, but with him not being healthy the chances of his injury getting worse or having another worse injury increases.

Sure, but i would expect him to fight to stay in the lineup, with that being deep in the back of his mind.

I'm not worried until they're mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs.

rfaulk is a gold jacket HOFer when it comes to fans of other teams on CP. The Bengals are imploding and he keeps showing up. Dude provides pictures of his pergola without photo credits from Belize on them.

I’m not sure you should worry about anything other than Burrow’s health. The team might even be better off letting Burrow rest/heal and avoid more serious injury.

Tank with the backup QB and get a high draft pick. Worked out pretty great last time when Cincy drafted Chase after the team fell apart on the field without Burrow. Take one step back this year, but a couple steps forward next year with some Top 5 quality talent added in The Draft.

Problem is that the guy who makes that decision would have to worry about his job.

You're right. It's not like the Chiefs won any important games like the AFCCG or the Superbowl with a gimpy quarterback. Oh wait. Yes they did. The injury sure wasn't an excuse for Mahomes. And the Chiefs didn't face Ryan Tannehill lead teams while he was hurt.

Cardinals field has been known to cause injuries. KC had some injury problems last year in Week 1 at Phoenix.

I honestly don't think they know how to build a good oline from left to right. They have a couple good pieces and an absolute sieve in Volson.

This offseason they would have been better off moving Karras to LG and finding someone else in the middle. Hell, they'd probably be better moving Karras right now and letting Trey Hill start at center.

CupidStunt 10-02-2023 10:46 AM

Joe Burrow is the 1st QB in NFL history to attempt at least 150 passes in his team's first 4 games of a season, and average fewer than 5 yards per attempt on those passes.

So Joe Burrow's calf injury has now lingered for 2 months, with a "re-aggravation" a couple of weeks ago. When is he going to heal? The bye week? One thing is clear, he isn't Joe Burrow right now. They gotta sit him. Sit him with no timetable to return until that thing is 100%. That could mean a lost season, but it's a lost season either way if they are going to continue to have him limp out there and do what he's doing. Get healthy and then see what the landscape looks like.

Sitting on the bench doesn't help anyone. Mahomes risked further injury last year but he knew his body and played on it.

Burrow has to do the same thing. At some point it will be strong enough for him to plant and push off on it and only he will know when that is and i'd rather him be in a game than on the practice field when that happens.

They have the cap space to sign at least 2 of the top 5 UFAs next year, easily. Jonah Williams is meh, so no big loss there if he's gone. So it comes down to what they do with Tee Higgins. Sign him or get picks for him.

But Mahomes was able to still play at a high level, and we were in the playoffs where the week-to-week stakes were elimination. I can see taking the risk when those 2 things are at play. Joe Burrow is dragging this thing out while also playing bad and losing games.

I dunno, Playoffs are different. At least you know the season is over very soon, whether it’s 1 game or 3 games. And then you can rest for a long time after the Playoffs are done. If Burrow’s injury drags out for months, that’s a long road of playing through the injury and risking more serious injury problems. 17 game season is a tough slog.

I don't disagree with the playoff scenario. Staying in the race is just as important and what they have as backups isn't going to make the offense better. If he's comfortable playing, i'm fine with it. If they had a capable backup, i'm sure i'd feel different.

Generally speaking, he didn't just magically turn into Ryan Leaf. When he's able to plant and push, he'll be Burrow again. Maybe it will be during practice, maybe it will be during a game but it will be better that he's in game shape and has those reps in his pocket.

This is a bit different for you, buddy boy.

As you're so fond of saying, your Bengos supposedly own the Tits.

Even if you get in as a wild card, you'll ****ing destroyed with that OL.

Pack it in, it's back to irrelevancy for you.

He actually doesn't, but i don't expect you to study his offense. Any offensive scheme requires execution, first and foremost. If the QB isn't executing, it all falls to shit.

12.25 pts/game just feels like REAL BENGOS football after all. Good to see little brother back on the pills and missing trailer payments.

Oh, I'd never study something so tedious and boring. I take my talking points from your fellow 'Natti boyz online.

The Oline isn't the problem. The Bengals are 3-1 in road playoff games.

Dead last in both PPG and yards/game.

These dudes are a worse version of last year's Broncos and he's preaching a turnaround. LMAO

Just enjoying a little NFL chat this afternoon. They guessed like 4 other teams before they got the right answer!
