Really good game and great catch at the end there. Hope it gives him confidence and he can build on it.
|
Serious props to #24. Dude came up huge when we needed him the most. That’s BIG!
|
That's exactly what you want to see from a WR or a slot receiver during a scramble drill. That was your basic perfect.

It’s nice to see him start to show what he can bring to the offense. Still work to do, but he dusted Derwin on that third down.
|
Wait. DJLN spent weeks and dozens of posts telling us a rookie WR was worthless. I thought he was the final authority on all things football?
|
Kid is flashing, he can play. Having Patrick's trust is half the battle.
That route on James was a brilliant. Kid had more than a yard of separation on that break. |

LMAO Fitting he does this on the same day George Pickens shows his ass to the world with one of the dumbest cheap shots of all time to get ejected from his game.

Skyy made some huge plays tonight. Awesome to see it!

This was his only Skyy related post in the GDT (other than a response to mine): Quote:
But he can no longer pretend that he doesn't have a hard on for the guy, because it couldn't be more obvious. |
I'm phone posting, dicks. I can only be in so many places at once!
And I'm trying to find someone who will put me in touch with Nick Bolton so I can service him. Gimme a break dammit. Kid played well in the 2nd half (mostly the 4th quarter) when MVS seemed to shrink. Damn nice job. And I love Derwin James so seeing him cross him up was impressive. But I'm gonna keep drinking whiskey and DMing Nick now. Enjoy. |
Moore played his best game, obviously, but the bar was really low.
I still expect something bad to happen on every play where Moore touches the ball. It will probably take a year of no fumbles and no bad decisions before I relax when the ball goes his way. Sent from my moto g stylus 5G using Tapatalk |

I'm not crowning his ass yet, but isn't it perhaps possible for Skyy to achieve being an effective NFL WR in spite of the limitations you've brought up? |

Here's the problem I'm faced with really.
I started drinking this goddamn peanut butter whiskey at halftime because I'm trying to clean shit out of my bar and figured I could make an interesting old fashioned out of it. And then we won. Fellas, this is a hangover on ice. This is NOT a game day drink. And yet it's responsible not only for the win, but the ascension of Skyy Moore. So what the **** do I do here? |

He looked smooth. Good to see, that’s what we need going forward. Hopefully he gets some confidence from it

But I’m close. I’m convinced when he smoked James, it is because James watched film and took the play off. ROFL. Nice game by Skyy. Hopefully he can build on it. |
I think we saw what you can hope Moore becomes flashing tonight. A nasty slot weapon who roasts man-to-man coverage.
He does have big, powerful hands. And even though he isn't the tackle-breaking monster that Juju Smith-Schuster is, I do think Moore would be an intriguing option if the Chiefs decide to NOT invest at WR and bring Juju back on a long-term deal. |

He flashed today, so that is very encouraging to see. |
I’m gonna piss Detoxing off here but damn did this kid look like Julian Edelman tonight LMAO

He was AMPED up after every single catch, too. Like he's been waiting to make those big time plays and contribute.
Hope his confidence builds and he can keep getting better. |

Reflecting on his perfomance, can't overstate how big it was for gaining trust with Andy and Pat.
As much as we were happy to see him get some confidence, it's just as big that Pat and Andy gained confidence in him. Pat was looking his way often on 3rd down, and it worked every time. Absolutely huge for the stretch run. At the very least, I fully expect this guy to play the majority of 3rd (passing) downs. |

Juju, MVS and Skyy
That's your third down WR set. Don't need Hardman or Watson on the field unless someone needs a blow. |

Many quality nfl wr’s struggle their rookie yr. He’ll end up being a solid pro for the Chiefs.

This is as good as we possibly could've expected at WR -- and so cheap, while some teams are spending wild money on the position. |
Kid had a solid game. Made two clutch catches in the 2nd half. Did have one bad route where he didn't turn in time to play the ball but overall was excellent. I can see him have this type of role going forward. A WR3 used in key moments in the game.
|
Kid had a good game.
I truly don't ever want to see him fielding punts though. Couldn't we just not have anyone back there? I'd rather lose an additional 10-20 yards of field position than risk a fumble once every handful of punts. |
DO WE STILL HATE SKYY?

I'll be honest.
It boggles the mind that he caught that 3rd down at midfield but biffed 2 punts. |

DJ, you don't want that on your conscience do you? |
He had a solid game and stepped up when we needed him the most.

I agree with a lot that has been said about this game. You could see the trust after the scramble drill with Mahomes and it was awesome! Watching our rookies come up big against a divisional foe that killed us the first half will be an awesome memory!
I also agree with preferring MVS not being out there on 3rd down. I keep waiting for him to blow up, but in the small sample size he seems like another hardman. |
Definitely want to see him play Moore. Did well

With the exception of Kinnard and Johnson, every draft pick has made an impact at some point this year.
Some inconsistencies which you expect, but damn. This class. That’s how you pay the best QB in the game AND field a competitive roster. |

Like, remember when Dustin Colquitt was our left footed punter and quite a few PRs muffed his punts because of the rotation leading the ball to be where they didn’t expect it to be? That’s what Skyy wasn’t prepared for. That has very little to do with catching a pass (unless it’s one of Pats airbenders) and Skyy only dropped 4 passes in 3 years in college. His hands are as good as anyone’s. |
Is it too soon to compare him to Jerry Rice?

Skyy is the limit for this kid in the slot. They can't touch that stutter and sharp break. He puts them on skates.
Patrick has his safety blanket, Travis Kelce. Skyy has his foot in the door of earning Patrick's trust in the samd way Juju has. It takes time, this kid is growing in his craft before our eyes. Those big mits catch everything. |

Mecole Hardman ain’t doing that folks. And neither has MVS. In his first game as a starter he ****ing COOKED Derwin James. He burnt his sorry ass. He caught multiple passes that converted 3rd downs, caught another very difficult pass and ended up catching 5/6 targets with the 1 miss being a bad throw behind him. He was propped as a high ceiling pro ready player. Well this is exactly what that looks like guys. Andy needs to get him in there now bc he’s clearly better than Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman as a true WR. Dude is gonna be so good for us, especially with mismatch routes in the middle of the field |
Skyy Moore is going to be a dependable #2 WR, you can see all the makings of a solid chain mover that gets it done.
|
LMAO
Over reaction planet at it's finest. He had a nice game. Nothing spectacular. Nothing jaw dropping. He got to where he needed to be and caught the ball when Mahomes put it on him. Hopefully he can build on it. |
