Karlaftis hasn't hit Burrows with such intensity that the entire city of Cinci collapses in on itself.
Not good enough. |

There's no crow, I said he had a good game and didn't make fuss after the Houston game in this thread. |
I think he may have come up with his own sig move today. He looked like he was doing an impersonation of pirate unsheathing a sword after big plays.
|
LMAO @ this butt****ing moron acting like it's his first good game

Yeah, he sucks-lol |
He’s been pretty good. Not a world-beater but a solid addition.

How do you square that statement with this sudden uptick in production during his rookie campaign? |
I love the energy this kid brings to the defense. Another off-season lifting program and he will be a Beast next year.

That’s a trend, not one game. |

As I said it occurred when Mcduffie returned and plastering WRs getting coverage sacks. This was his 1st honest good game in the regular season when he beat his guys 1 on 1 without being a step late or whiffing. Mcduffie is the unsung hero here. |

Yep, look at the spike in his play the Rams game which Mcduffie came back healthy. Damn Trent is doing a hell of a job but it's all George. |
we've seen enough good things from him during his rookie season to expect him to only get better. Next year and especially the year after, our defense should be seasoned and I'm kinda thinking it could be dominant. You gotta give them a year or two at least jeez

Alot here can't take compliments, and go overboard like he's a future HOFer. |
Quote:
Which you were. He's ****ing 21, man. |
George has had a way better rookie year than 22 year old Chris Jones did in his.

Trey Hendrickson got two and a half sacks in his first two years in the league. I think GK is gonna be dominant in the years ahead tbh.

So Karlaftis is going to possibly be a future HOFer? He's had one legit good game, that wasn't absolutely influenced by the return of Mcduffie. |
Quote:
You’re literally talking about CJ at the beginning of his career progressing upward and making it seem like it was a scheme thing rather than experience in his first couple seasons where he had 2 and 6.5 sacks respectively. It’s okay - you can admit that you had no clue he had that productive of a season under the old scheme. Second, where did I say anything about Karlaftis as a future HOFer? What words are you attempting to put into my mouth or is this how you deflect when your arguments are weak? Third, talk about a weak argument… confusing correlation with causation and really thinking it’s the presence of McDuffie that has led to this uptick in sacks. McDuffie’s first 3 games back Karlaftis had 0 sacks. Much more likely it’s a function of gaining more experience than some natural advantage McDuffie has provided. |

Mcduffie's return coming back from injury shaking off the rust was the catalyst. The QB's were holding on the ball longer thus Karlaftis had his coverage sacks against Burrow, Wilson, disappeared in the Texans game which some were predicted a 2+ sack game, and dominated the Seattle game on his own steam. George missed tackles are very high in general hence pressures are the "new hidden TDs" jab. He had a good game against Seattle I won't take that from him, but it's foolish not to believe McDuffie's help Karlaftis prior to the Seahawks game. |

I'm pretty happy with what we've gotten out of George in his rookie year! He definitely brings the pressure and will only get better.

I'll give people their due, but if it's strawman stuff trying to find improvement then it's BS. I want to he wrong without any wriggle room. Nick Bolton proved me wrong, OBJ well that discussion is still ongoing |

I wonder which draft round will look the best in 3 years?
Bolton and Humphrey Or McDuffie and Karlaftis |

But to say that George's recent production is solely the result of Trent's return to the field isn't accurate, imo. George has been improving in several parts of his game, including chaining moves together. He's steadily improved in that area, and the results are being seen on the field on gameday, whether you choose to see it or not. As for all the rest of your hyperbole, I'm not that interested. Right now, Karlaftis is a plus on the field, and I have high, but reasonable, hopes for him down the stretch, and into next season, but how high he'll go is really up to him. He could explode to an all-new level that no one expected, or he could plateau, or a hundred other things could happen. But right now, he's improving, and right now he can help the team achieve their post-season goals, and trying to diminish his efforts/imprvements since week 1 seems kind of silly. But it's Christmas, so I'm through rehashing this talking point for a while. Merry Christmas, bud. Glad to shake your hand if we ever meet. And to everyone here, and to all your loved ones.:Peace: And, Merry Christmas, George, if you bother to read your thread in CP. Keep on keeping on, you're doing well. |

Just take the L and move along. Karlaftis is everything we hoped we were getting when we drafted him. Everything. |

Impatient? Considering how well he played in the preseason then waiting till he showed something where alot of True Fan behavior with how well he pressured the QB. He was whiffing on tackles/sacks on Allen,Burrow,Herbert, Lawrence, David Carr while Chris Jones was being doubled teamed. I want results, and not what could've happened because guys like Allen and Burrow who the Chiefs will face again will slice the Defense a new asshole if Karlaftis doesn't finish plays. The Seattle game was a good starting point where he did it on his own ability, and not because the secondary was shutting down WRs making the QBs hold on the ball longer. |

The Chiefs under Veach in the last few drafts have been just adding good football players.
This is why I loved this pick, screw over-analyzing things, add good football players and you have a high floor with room for more. See also Bolton, Humphrey, etc |
