That UK game was just one of those games, we sucked, they played great!

Here in Ky you should here how terrible KU is! Everyone here wants us again, have no fear of being in our bracket
I'm like, be careful what you ask for! Somewhere along the course of the season you play a few games that are stinkers, that was one of them. How bad a team loses by has some fans forgetting about reality.

But to me, it does not matter, a 1 or
2 is fine by me. It's the Big Dance, really doesn't matter anymore, you just beat the team in front of you to move on!

I bitch about the rugby ball as much or more than anyone else, but in terms of offensive and defensive execution even the rugby ball is better. I watched a shitload of crap-sloppy offense, and horrible out of position defense. The TCU/KU game was probably the worst defensive rotation of the tournament contenders, and virtually every other tournament had major defensive errors at least that commonly.

And I have to say I'm really impressed with OU defensively. I've watched too many garbage OU teams stand around on D, but this team gave up virtually no easy shots. They're pretty down on talent, but they were really technically sound. And they're the 7th seed.

There is some shit basketball being played. Maybe it's familiarity, maybe it's too many games, but woof in terms of offensive and defensive execution, Big 12 is best, albeit a limited sample over a few days.

Sidenote: Woof Iowa State was bad.

Yeah, looking at the projected bracket earlier, no on really sticks out... I know there will be surprise teams and there will be bad match ups that aren't in the top 20, but there's been plenty of chaos, so as far as top 4 seeds in any bracket....... meh.

UK is probably the one, but as Roy said, it was one of those 'everything goes wrong' kind of games while UK also had everything go right and I would guess played at their ceiling for that game.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 11:59 AM

I actually know a UK fan that doesn’t want any part of Kansas.

He said basically that he knows they had their best day against our worst. Neither is likely to happen again. He’s happy to just take the dominant win and not play again.

He’s a smart fan. Even mentioned how the two Arizona games went for KU in 2003.

He doesn’t think that we would absolutely win a rematch, but acknowledged that UK could absolutely look past us. No chance KU looks past UK.

I thought it was a fair take.

The UK commentators were talking about the possibility of a UK-KU bracket and was all over himself. Basically claiming nobody in UK nation should fear KU.

You have reasonable fans and the usual blow hards!

UK gets beat by Tennessee

Might have to get sick a few times in March, best time of year to play be sick.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:29 PM

Both teams came out hot today

BWillie 03-12-2022 05:31 PM

This pace definitely favors Kansas.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 05:34 PM

Yesefu is on a fast break with numbers and he passes it out to Harris on the 3PT line? Yikes.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 05:35 PM

Tech is out here flopping all over the floor. They usually get rewarded for it but not on that Braun floater.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:39 PM

I want to see a replay of that last block. Looked like a foul in real time.

Reerun_KC 03-12-2022 05:39 PM

If you think Tech fouled, odds are that they probably did.

Lzen 03-12-2022 05:43 PM

Fran is especially annoying today. That three point foul was a good call. And then that block that was called was the defender moving underneath Braun way after he jumped. He seems to have an agenda against Braun.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:46 PM

Good lord McCormack is getting hacked constantly

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:47 PM

Bullshit charge. These refs don’t want a blowout.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 05:48 PM

More flops rewarded. Just such disgusting defense.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:49 PM

We’re playing against 5 Marcus Smarts

Yeah, I would have preferred those weird looking OU brothers instead of this.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:56 PM

Wilson having a rough game

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 05:56 PM

Remy went straight Frank Mason body seeking. Super smart play.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 05:58 PM

Can we properly execute a quality 2 for 1 to end a half here? If it happens, it would be a first.

Bill can NOT be happy. That was so sloppy.

SithCeNtZ 03-12-2022 06:02 PM

That's why self had to keep playing Remy. Regardless of what happens in this game, him catching fire is a good sign for the tournament.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:03 PM

Why did McCormack shoot the ball when he did there? He really had no idea how much time there was left.

Team can use him as a scoring threat when others get tight or against teams like this that foul/flop all over the court. He can get his own offense against anybody.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 06:20 PM

Flop flop flop

Pablo 03-12-2022 06:20 PM

That’s the rule. Thanks fran the bundle of sticks

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:20 PM

Fran, that's just embarrassing defense to be rewarded at any level of basketball. Agbaji was barely moving.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 06:21 PM

Look at a Tech player = foul
Hack McCormack = just good tough play

Hilarious thing is Agbaji DID jump stop. Still called the charge.

Fran is awful. I’m sure tech fans love him.

Lzen 03-12-2022 06:27 PM

That was a flop, Fran.
I know a lot of KU fans don't like Fran but I don't usually have a problem with his commentary. This game, however, he's been terrible.

Tech is coached to fall down at any kind of minimal contact. It's obvious and Fran knows it.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:29 PM

Would be great if Agbaji stopped trying to do things like dribbling and passing and just shot the ball.

BWillie 03-12-2022 06:29 PM

Our guys (Ochai and Braun) arent exactly crafty by the basket. One reason why they get so many charges. Wilson is much more crafty with his footwork near the hoop.

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 06:30 PM

Super gutty performance from McCormack

Fran is the best in CBB if he doesn’t have an agenda, he just usually has an axe to grind on KU. Especially if a team mounts a comeback.

CasselGotPeedOn 03-12-2022 06:30 PM

McCormack playing really well

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 06:32 PM

If we could stop the unforced turnovers, that would be great

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:32 PM

Would also be nice if Braun showed up. Like at all.

Braun would be wise to learn a euro step

smithandrew051 03-12-2022 06:35 PM

Good lord McCormack is getting mauled on every touch. This is ridiculous.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:35 PM

Tech making contested shots and KU missing wide open ones (although it is Harris). Trending the wrong way.

Best FT shooters on the team Harris and McCormack. Cant and wont shoot 3s. Its weird.

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:39 PM

I wouldn't keep McCormack out for long here. Him and Remy are the only two to show up for this one.

CasselGotPeedOn 03-12-2022 06:41 PM

Remy's best game as a Jayhawk

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:42 PM

Remy needs the ball in his hands more in this game down the stretch IMO

The others are not dealing with the pressure Tech is putting on the ball well at all

He's passive. I'm guessing the charge calls have made him that way today. But then just now he got a good drive to the bucket on a fast break. That good. But the next time down there was nobody on the middle and he refused to drive it. Ended in a Wilson TO

Ochai not a very good ball handler. Needs to be more of a shooter. Good game to have both Harris and Remy in the game I think when they are amped up on pressure (tight game, end of game both)

KC_Connection 03-12-2022 06:46 PM

Braun unwilling to shoot wide open corner 3s now

BWillie 03-12-2022 06:46 PM

Amazing drop step by Wilson. Need to post him up more.

Easily our worst ball handler other than the bigs on the team, yeah. No excuse for him to have 5 turnovers with the kind of game he has.

Agbaji and Braun seem nervous as hell again this game.

Apparently it's not a foul when Wilson gets tackled in mid air

Definitely. He has a tendency to get nervous/doubt himself and lose that quite often still.
