Disagree. Embiid's defense already put him much higher than that by January. He's a generational defensive player in basketball history when healthy.

Had Embiid dominated that tourney en route to a title, he goes 1/1.

Just look how helpless George Niang looked against him.

The evolution of Embiid from his first game or two to how he was playing in January is the fastest I've ever seen a player improve. Embiid was by far the best player on the court every time he was out there before his injury. I recall a team just went out with what seemed like intent to injure Embiid and shoved him in the back and nearly tackled him all game. Fkers robbed us of more Embiid that year.

If Conner hit that third three in a row they win and he probably stays at Kansas. Maybe.

Conner was so weird with how accurate he was at 3 but only off the dribble

I could see these two having a Wiggins-Embiid type impact.

Not too many teams have a duo of that talent level.

Now add Tyran Stokes like a Darrell Arthur and baby you got a stew goin

3 lottery picks on 1 team with 2 top 5 picks?

Yeah, sign me up. The rest is filler and good enough to win it all.

Apparently Dybantsa is quite the douche on the court and our guy isn't. So that's nice to know.

Man, I miss the old days when we'd have him for 3 seasons. 3 chances at a Natty.

But, its been awhile since we had the #1 player. After the shitshow of last year. I'm ready to see some brilliant play with these horses. Self has to bring another championship home or at least make a final 4.

This is a myth. He showed and oozed insane potential from day one. In fact, go look at the game logs. He had some of the best games early in the season.

Kiimo 04-19-2025 11:42 AM

i think it was clear to anyone paying attention that he was improving every game by alarming amounts. Faster than I saw anybody else in my life

Nope. He was great by day 1. But this idea is folklore among KU fans. He was probably the most consistent player on the team that year. Look at the game log. Only difference is he saw a little more minutes later in the year. He was arguably even better early in the year because he was fresher.

It's not folklore, it's the "thing that happened that I watched and remember, regardless what you our other KU fans think"

KC_Connection 04-19-2025 12:34 PM

His two best stretches by game score there were the end of December (against inferior competition) and then right before he got hurt. He was clearly trending upwards going into March.

Everyone except BWillie: we agree

Because it is just blatantly wrong. People act like he had this Kelly Oubre type year at KU. Where early in the year he couldn't even walk and chew gun then all of a sudden he was amazing. He was amazing all year. All year. I provided the game logs. It cannot be disputed.

He was more consistent than Wiggins was.

The game logs that show him significantly improving over the course of the season, especially from November to December? Those game logs?
