And honestly they MIGHT have done that to themselves. Hard to say. LeClerc was never completely comfortable in the car and they let him race a bit early in that final stint to try to track down Sainz. In so doing, I felt like he cooked his tires a little. Then when they knew he couldn't get around Sainz, they had him play rear-guard for Carlos a little and in the process let Norris get close enough to pressure LeClerc into a mistake. Had he not cooked his tires early or not dropped back later, that doesn't happen. Had they had LeClerc simply run his race the entire 2nd stint, not try to chase down Sainz but simply hold the same relative delta, he never cooks his tires and Norris never gets close. So Ferrari did turn a 1-2 into a 1-3, but I guess with LeClerc still having a (very very) faint shot at the Drivers, it was something they felt like they had to let him try. Cost themselves a couple points in the process, IMO. |
That's right. I forgot that LeClerc dropped back to third with his tire issues late in the race. Either way two great showings in a row for Ferrari is good for them.

This race is drunk.

Yeah, this is a shitshow.
And Max is going to win by 20 seconds. Guy's treating these conditions like they're nothing. Meanwhile nobody else can seem to drive any better than a couple of damn Alpine's at the front. This race is just bizarre. I don't know how McLaren set up their car, but they clearly didn't set it up for wet conditions because they don't have anything. They can't even get around Leclerc and the Ferrari didn't have anything this weekend when the weather was good. This is just a complete throwaway of a race but it's going to essentially lock the drivers title for Max. Meanwhile Alpine, which hasn't done a damn t hing all season, is about to jump past V-Carb in the constructors standings on the strength of a single bizarre race. |
I get so tired listening to all of Crofty's wisecracking. He thinks it's the Crofty and Karun Comedy Hour out there. It's not the job of the play by play guy to be cracking jokes.
Then he went on about the seasonal fall rains. It's springtime right now in Brazil, you brainless twit. |

Sub to F1TV. It’s cheap and the announcers are way better. It’s usually Alex Jacques partnered with either David Coulthard or James Hinchcliffe. |

The thing that bugs me about F1TV is how it doesn't keep track of what I've watched, unlike every other streaming service on the planet. Some race replays have three different versions. I've watched 100+ classic races so far, it's impossible to keep track of all that. I need to start a spreadsheet for it. |
Total shitshow of a race today. The FIA is asleep at the wheel. Where is the leadership? The incompetence is staggering.
|
Who's excited for the new season? It just sucks that lights out is at 11:00PM.
|
Totally forgot it’s that time. I’m in.
But ya, it’s gonna have to be replay for me. |

Just hoping for another competitive season, with Ferrari or McClaren finishing at the top. Would be extra entertaining if Mercedes somehow finished ahead of Ferrari though.

A guy spun out on the out lap in the rain and crashed

Damn, that was a great race. Kimi is going to win the WDC some day. Hell of a drive from him.
It looks like Lando has finally shaken that pole position curse. McLaren is looking very strong, it will take some serious upgrades to catch them on pace this year. Yuki got ****ed by his team again on strategy, I'm starting to feel bad for him. |
