I've seen it. Thank you though - I'm glad we are friends.

I saw season 1 - started season 2 but only half of epi#1 - slow start maybe? I'll try it again - thanks for the recommendation. I did enjoy season 1

It jumps around because there’s a lot of backstory with this one. But it’s good imo. Much more gore and tension than the first season once it gets going.

I watched The Babysitter on Netflix. It was a fun movie, plenty of gore but mostly comedic in nature. It takes many stereotypes and just turns them up to 11. Imagine Home Alone but with a satanic cult instead of burglars.

I got a kick out of this movie, went in with very low expectations. Samara Weaving is a smoke show!

I'd like to make out with her - minus the two knives to the head!

Watching Freddy vs Jason. I've always wanted to see it now I own it with a collection of Nightmare on Elm St.

Rasputin 02-25-2018 11:22 PM

F vs J is ****ing awesome. Jason is one bad ass mother ****er. Freddy dreams to be like Jason.

Yeah that was a good one. The guy in the cornfield will be ok. Just whiplash.

I watched this tonight.

Solid performances, keeps you guessing, excellent use of the location, the big bad at the end is revealed and I'm still not sure what I saw there or what it is.

7.5 out of 10.

So far this year THE DEVIL'S CANDY (9 out of 10)
The Void (7 out of 10)
Troll Hunter (8 out of 10)
Beyond the Gates (6.5 out of 10)

Normally not a fan of Australian produced films - but this was pretty good - a decent rainy day film. I'd give it 6.5 or so - 8 out of 10 seems far too high IMO.

Freddy vs Jason was awesome.

Leprechaun vs Chucky would be ****ing great, too.

ThaVirus 02-27-2018 09:17 PM

Or Michael Myers vs Pumpkinhead or something.

I watched Amusement last night - it was pretty good in a Joy Ride type of way. Give me a good haunted type to watch tonight.

Still haven’t seen ‘Get Out’. It won some Oscars last night.

What’s CP say about it?

Its strength is in its recontextualization of the genre.

It's a pretty straightforward genre film, so if you know the 'twist' or anticipate it, it's a little 'well, duh.'

But it's well shot and efficient in its narrative.

Kind of like when you enjoy 'Speed,' then you realize it's 'Die Hard, . . . on a Bus.' You can appreciate the craft of adapting the narrative to another setting and how it creates new drama, even while you recognize that it's formulaic at its base.
