If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to see it. Does it really fall?

The common thought within the conference is that there are no teams outside of the power 5 that would financially impact the Big 12 in a way that would increase the per school payout that currently exist. This doesn't outweigh the positives for fans and the school that they experience with all teams playing each other once a year. |
I can faintly recall Deaton & Alden announcing the sec move by saying "We be steppin' up". And time to raise donor funds - this was now the big leagues! No time for Big 12 caliber facilities nope.
Fast forward three years. SEC-Least football is again equivalent to the Big 12, Mizzou has played the identical SoS to Kansas since then, and basketball isn't even close. (Big 12 #1 in Sagarin & Pomeroy - just like last year) So much for "steppin' up" |

So a typical Missouri football game drew the same number of viewers as an average Kansas game...plus an average Iowa State game...plus an average Texas game?
I guess I'm still on board with the move to the SEC. |
