There's a lot of intriguing options in this draft at WR. A first rounder is locked up for five years. I'd go that route.
Lockett for a late third sounds good though. |
DK and Veach would want to add an extension to his Rookie deal...
What would you give him? $20M year? $25M year? |

If Tyler Lockett wasn’t gonna be 30 in September, I’d LOVE to have him in KC.
Unfortunately, he is and his whole game is built on speed and burst/acceleration so when he loses a step he’s done. After these recent WR contracts, I have no interest in DK Metcalf, either. This draft is built for us. Tons of really talented DL and WRs. Depending on how they feel behind closed doors about Fortsons outlook and Greys upside…there are a few decent fits for us at TE, too…but I think they love both of their guys. If Veach is patient early, he will come out of this draft ready to stay in the Championship window for the next 5 years. There are a couple scenarios I’d love to see us move up to get a total stud that drops, but my preference is to stay put in most scenarios and let the draft come to us. I’d love to see us go out and draft 2 DEs, a DT, 2 WRs and a corner in the first 3 rounds. I’d post a list but I’d get a little too excited. |
So we won't pay Tyreek $24m, but we would pay DK $20m+? Makes no sense. Tyreek is twice as impactful as DK.

And Tyler is too old. |
Those 4th round picks this year are like thirds.
