Let's inject a little perspective into all of this.

There are currently 67 football teams in BCS conferences. It looks like there are going to end up being 4 conferences with 16 teams each or 64 total. Assuming that no mid-majors wind up in the new conferences, only 3 teams will be left out.

Smart money says that these 3 teams include Iowa State. The question is who the other 2 teams will be.

I don't know why people assume it's Iowa State. Iowa is a more populous state than Kansas is. While I agree w/ you, I don't think it's that cut and dry.

Go to your room!

Kansas State might be one of the teams left out. That would be pretty funny considering we've been to a BCS bowl, where the other 2 most certainly would not have been.

Don't worry. The MWC will be a BCS conference starting in 2013.

The Hawkeyes already dominate the state. ISU doesn't add a market. They don't add a large fanbase. They don't add good academics. They don't add good athletics. It seems pretty self-evident. They would be better off in the MWC or Conference USA.

I know. I grew up there. Kansas dominates this state. So what?

There's not going to BE a BCS in 2013. Anyone who thinks that these power conferences are being created in order to let MORE schools in the club is delusional. There will be 4 power conferences with a total of 64 teams. The rest aren't in the club. It's as simple as that.
