So, my best friend has started seeing someone. He's bringing her to a cookout at another friend of ours tonight. From what I hear, she sounds pretty cool. I'm super nervous about this though. Not necessarily about meeting her, though. Every time I have a guy friend that I can hang out and talk sports with, they completely blow me off. I can understand why. It will just suck this time, because he's become my best friend. Wish me luck!

WTF? I wasn't even saying anything bad about myself. I was trying to say that I can understand why a guy wouldn't be able to hang out as much. Also, I have a long history of guy friends completely blowing me off when they start dating. No fault of mine. It's either ex-friends being asswipes or the new girlfriends being overly possessive.

Would you quit assuming that I only see the bad in myself? I'm smart enough to know how my world works, and that there are more than plenty of assholes in it.

Oh, and his other best friend said he didn't see it lasting long. I'm glad he said it, because I was thinking it. I thought I was being too critical though. She doesn't like COD (which he loves), she took no interest in the music while him and his friend were playing, and just a few other comments she made. I told his other best friend that I thought the same thing, but I was trying to remove myself from judgment. He sent me a text after they left saying to text him tomorrow. How honest should I be?
