Seen quite a few Niner folks around the Internet saying this will be a repeat of their Montana/Marino Super Bowl.
I sure hope their coaches are ignorant enough about Mahomes to think he's a statue like Marino. He's more like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers with an even better arm than them. He has incredible instincts against the pass rush. Not saying he will pull a Houdini miracle on every single play, but he will occasionally do some stuff that makes the elite Niners pass rush look pretty foolish. He's made a career of this against elite pass rushers both in college and the NFL. My suspicion is that Vegas is probably correct and this will be a very competitive game. I don't think either team gets blown out and I would not be surprised if both teams make it to 30+ points. |

And you're missing the point. See, our defense doesn't have to stop your offense. It only has to keep them from scoring more than their season average. Which is about 45% of their possessions. Our offense scores on about 60% of our possessions. See where this is going? If your offense punts five times in the Super Bowl, they're going to lose, simple as that. |

The only real argument we have heard from everyone picking the Chiefs is Mahomes.
By every other metric we're Better more complete team Offensively/Defensively. |

Dee Ford is awful against the run. We’ve seen it firsthand for years. There’s a reason teams game plan to run right at him. |

I do. Then I usually reread what I posted, and if I have any typos, i hit "edit" and i fix that shit. If i accidentally get "your" instead of "you're", I go back and fix that shit. But then again, i went to ****ing college and have an IQ that is higher than room temperature. Whereas, in Oakland, I'm sure the smartest gangbanger on the block has 3 brain cells left - a lonely one, a stupid one, and an angry one. |

Another Niner's troll that thinks he's got all this great trashtalk that we've never heard before. I literally posted a trashtalk fill-in the blank for the opposing fans so that you could just fill in the blanks, man. And I'm going to guess that like the other trolls, you haven't even watched the Chiefs play, and will just call up the season's statistics for your arguments. I suggest that you go watch at least the two play-off games before you come back talking a bunch of smack. The last month would be even better; and the last 8 games actually would give you a good idea of what you're facing. |

So he's cooking up a bunch of crack to sell before he commits rape and armed robbery, then... |
As much as niner fans crap on Alex Smith, its funny that they would sign a younger version of him.
He was literally Alex Smith this year. 8 games under 200 yards passing. EIGHT. Half the season hes 200 or less. Thats game manager tattooed on the forehead. His 3 games of 300 or above came twice against Arizonas dead last defense, and one good game against New Orleans. Two to one td ratio at 27 TD to 13 int and TEN fumbles. Jesus even checkdown Alice wasnt that bad. His post season has him at 208 yards, 1 td and 1 int in two contests. Really impressive stuff. If the running game of SF is contained, Jimmy cannot deliver this game with his arm against Mahomes. |

This is the equivalent of my looking up the Chiefs' defensive stats without context and determining they're a bad defense. I can give you reasons as to why his numbers are what they are if you're interested, but I suspect you aren't. I'll just say this: don't expect to go up against a Captain Checkdown-type QB in the Super Bowl. |

Does the Niners fanbase still think Jimmy is Montana Part 2? I remember reading Niner forums back when he won his first 5 starts and then got the huge contract. Ton of Montana comparisons back then. |
Quote:
Looking forward to it. Like i said, Jimmy is good for 2 picks this game if he has to put it up. Mahomes in 2 games, 721 total yards 9 TD. O int. Jimmy in 2 games, 208 yards 1 td 1 int. Without the run, SF is screwed, same as Tannehill and the Titans were. |

Fans think he's closer to Montana 2.0 than Smith 2.0. Outside of a loyal few, Smith's name is dirt among 49er fans. I've been a 9er fan almost 30 years. I missed the tail end of Montana, but I saw all of Young, and all of the dreck that followed. Jimmy G is legit. The guy is just clutch on 3rd down. |

Let's talk about Chiefs vs 49ers here. I bet all you guys agree with the Original post. |

He was hopeless against good defenses. He put up 3 points against the Giants in 2012, and lost his job for good not too long after. |

Suoerbowl 1 rematch. Mahomes vs Rodgers is WAY bigger box office than Mahomes vs Jimmy Gamemanager. Chance to keep the revenge tour rolling against teams that beat us in the regular season. Yeah. Would have been pretty sweet. I guess we will have to settle for Mahomes stomping a mudhole in your D and walking it dry. If old man Brees dropped 40+ on you, dear god I hope they bring enough fireworks to this game. |

KC still has no answer for our Offense. and we put up 40 something on them.... and won |
