I have made 4 custom teams:

Wideloads - tweaked them to be the 'Royals'

Sawteeth - tweaked them to be the 'Chiefs'

Crocodons - tweaked them to be Bad news bears (with chico's bail bonds jerseys!)

One other team that I tweaked to be Van Halen, complete with Frankenstein graphics, etc.

Love that freakin' game.

I play with Crocodons the most because they're really good defensively, hit for contact, and have good starting pitching. They're frustrating though as they rarely hit home runs.

I play with my custom teams with funny names taken from the internet. Sometimes I play in my buddies league with the Drunk Of the Irish(we're both part Irish btw) which are just bigtime Homerun hitters. Coop play is the bomb and I wish a football game did that but have yet to see it implemented. I think a Madden type game would be fun with 22 real players.

Massively disappointing.

I also quite playing this pile of garbage. Should've been a $20 game.

BF4 is an all-timer. It's the closest Dice has come to capturing the fun from BF:BC2.

I did everything I could to like that game but ya it never grabbed me even after about 30 hours I quit from boredom.

A little excited to see how this turns out. Looks bonkers. The multiplayer is being developed by the same devs that did Doom 2016 multiplayer. That has me intrigued..

that's great.

I lost a run one game last night due to a couple flare/bloop hits....was mad, but then realized that's why this game is so great. It's SOOO much like real baseball.

Yes and this weekend until 10am pacific on Monday Super Mega Baseball 3 is FREE TO PLAY FOR EVERYONE on Steam. If you don't own it and are on the fence check out the best baseball game ever made.

Fishpicker 10-08-2021 11:09 AM

SMB3 is great. my favorite players are always pitchers. my favorite pitchers are mostly girls. I like Chasey Kim, he has the best pitch arsenal. but his low accuracy makes him mediocre when i play 70+ ego. Woodrow is awesome but sometimes you have to pitch for contact in the late innings. I pitched a 1-hitter (1 run too) with Jovita Pulo (Crocodons) she is probably the best SP in the game. she can still dominate in the high ego games if you focus on switching up pitches and locations

I overperform with the moonstars due to the depth of SPs and bullpen. if I play with any other team, I have to drop 10 ego or I cant keep up.

DJJasonp 10-08-2021 11:56 AM

speaking of SMB3 and ego/rankings........every time I get around 1900s......I lose 3 or 4 in a row, etc. etc.

Anyone have their rankings in the 2000s and want to share the secrets to your success?

Can't say I'm a try hard, I suck but the beauty is I can set the Ego to whatever I want and have fun. :)

I played a couple hundred hours of forza 4

Downloading just for shits and giggles since i have gamepass. gonna see how the 5900x/3090 runs it

Fish 11-11-2021 12:47 AM

Yeah, if you liked Forza 4, you'll love this one. Especially with ray tracing and maxed out graphics settings. The lighting and environment looks really good. Very detailed. My 3070 Ti runs it at Ultra getting ~130FPS. That beefy 3090 of yours will probably run this game like a background process even on maxed out settings.

The gameplay is really enjoyable though. Forgiving and fun. It has a real open world feel, so you can just cruise around aimlessly if you want and still find lots of stuff to do regardless of doing any missions. There's over 66 square miles of exploration. 1.7 times more than Forza 4. I've been enjoying the single player progression so much I haven't had a chance to play the multiplayer stuff yet, but I've heard it's also pretty fun. You can even do some group team stuff together with others, but I haven't tried that out yet...

Microsoft surprises with early Halo Infinite multiplayer launch today

A huge surprise Xbox birthday gift from Microsoft

Microsoft is surprising Xbox fans today with an early launch for Halo Infinite multiplayer. Rumors of the early Halo Infinite multiplayer drop appeared over the weekend, and Microsoft is now making it official as part of today’s 20-year Xbox anniversary.

Halo Infinite’s cross-platform multiplayer mode should now be live for everyone on Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X, and PC to try out in beta. This beta includes access to season one with all the core maps and battle pass features. Any progress in the multiplayer mode will also carry over to launch day on December 8th.

I've never been a fan of FPS but I loved Halo 1 and 2 and Resistance on PS3. For me it was the co-op and not the competitive. Me and the boy played about 5 hours of the Collection co-op about a month ago and loved it. It's been so long it was like new again....

I purchased an old game (3 of them, to play with my kids) that has been updated for nearly a decade.

7 Days to Die.

7 bucks each, and we've played the hell out of it. It started out as "meh" because we play Left 4 Dead 2 all the time, but it got addicting really fast.

My kids are huge Minecraft players, and this game is that on steroids and zombies.

I am amazed at the value, and the attention to detail the developers have and continue to put in.

Bravo.

Anyone with insight as to when we’ll see reliable stock anytime?

Our PS4 is nearing its lifespan and haven’t been able to get a ps5 since they first came out.
I was gonna replace it over a year ago but figured I’d wait and get a 5 instead. So I’m either gonna get a new PS4 or keep waiting but damn, it’s been a year plus now of waiting.

The free multiplayer has been an absolute blast so far. I'm not very good at it yet, but there are moments that feel so ****ing cool when you get a decent team together. Really fun team play.

I've been playing more Forza 5 though, to be honest.

I waited 3 years in to the launch of the PS4 got one for $150 at a pawn shop. It still runs great. I won't be buying console again now that I've upgraded to a reasonable PC but I would have waited a min of two years for a PS5 anyway. Those launch consoles almost always have issues and there aren't many titles the first year.

If you want one get one. I don't see any change for the better in chip availability...

Picked up Mafia Trilogy on a black Friday sale, all 3 games for 30 bucks.

I'd played the first two when they originally came out, but Mafia Definitive edition was a spectacular remake. Completely redone voice work, and additions to the story here and there. Great ride if anyone is on the fence.

Mafia 2 was kinda meh on the gameplay, but the story was pretty solid. Starting up Mafia 3 later to finish out the trilogy.

If you like to play games for story, these are pretty good ones.

Hopefully they will launch a DLC soon, i've seen talk that it's going to happen although it might just be speculation. Mods are the best part because the community can add new content.

Loved the story in the second one but the first is still my favorite. Love Moxxis arena in BL 1, it was also more serious and gripping than the last three.

BigBeauford 12-07-2021 06:36 PM

As we near the end of the year, I thought it might be fun to chat about the best games we played in the shitty year that was 2021. I have a short list of the best new or new to me games:

The Best Game for Everyone

Deep Rock Galactic
https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.c...g?t=1638452099
This is without a doubt my favorite coop looter shooter/horde shooter I've ever played. Better than Destiny, The Division, and even *gasp* Left 4 Dead 2. So what does this one do well? To start, the world they have created here is interesting, humorous, and efficient. When you aren't tossing back beers on your Dwarven space rig with pals, you'll be jettisoned into asteroid rocks full of dangerous bugs, attempting to mine minerals for the most ruthlessly capitalistic company ever know. This game has a near perfect flow to it: land, get your bearings, gather resources, endure waves of enemies, complete your objective, and get the hell back to the drop pod. The gunplay and balancing is near perfect, and every class is enjoyable and useful to bring to a mission. Just play this damn game!

A Game for many

Art of Rally
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...xJUqg&usqp=CAU
A top down rally racer with shockingly good physics, lovely voxel looking graphics, and the best sound track ever in a video game.

A Game for Masochists

Noita
https://images.gog-statics.com/6c338...87f18df8d5.jpg
A hard as nails and often unfair roguelike. This one has procedurally generated levels made of pixels each with its own physical properties. It's crazy good, hard, and at times very frustrating. If you are fan of Spelunky, Enter the Gungeon, and other games that simulate the feeling of taking a baseball bat to your testicles, you'll jive with this one.

Otter 12-08-2021 07:37 AM

I've been hitting up Assassin's Creed II lately. Easily my favorite of the franchise even if the console to PC transition control leave much to be desired.

Anybody playing Halo: Infinite? It dropped today. I got to play for a couple hours after work. I thought it was really fun. Felt very nostalgic. Gameplay felt very classic Halo. With some really cool improvements. Took a little getting used to the weapons. The Grappleshot is crazy fun. Adds a huge plus to the gameplay. Hitting a big bad guy with the grapple melee shockwave is really satisfying. Ran into a surprising number of battles where I ran out of ammo for both weapons and was desperately scrambling to find any available weapon nearby. Nice element of desperation/despair on a few battles, that forces you to pick up enemy weapons you don't want just to stay alive. The graphics look really nice(PC) overall. Great atmosphere. Taxes the system quite a bit though. Surprised how many resources it requires.

Impressed for just a few hours in. The multiplayer was released already, and while it's fun, it's a bit of a mess right now. Crazy issue with lots of cheaters. Which is weird for a new game. Hopefully it improves.

Old arcade games/cabinet

I considered starting a thread just for arcade cabinet gamers but I guess this thread might be okay for this. So, is anyone else into old style arcade cabinet type games? I just recently bought this.

The image is not quite right as the trim is not red, it's black. Still, it looks pretty cool and I'm having a blast with this. Games included are Mortal Kombat™, Mortal Kombat II™, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3™, Joust™, Defender™, Rampage™, Gauntlet™, Paperboy™, Rootbeer Tapper™, Bubbles™, Toobin™, and Wizard of Wor.

Also, I just ordered a cabinet that has Donkey Kong (one of my all time favorites) and a ton of other games on it. Was hoping to get it before New Year's but sadly, it won't be here until early January.

In high school, I mostly played the Atari home console. But I did put my share of quarters into Defender and Joust.

That's a blast from the past.

I always loved playing defender at the arcade. I wasn't very good at it but still it was fun.

I'm guessing everyone has seen that Unreal 5/Matrix demo by now?

Yeah. Looks pretty sweet. Shame I don't have a Ps5.

Looking for a new game to beat. Recents I've beaten are FF7 remake, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Borderlands 3, Diablo 2 Ressurected. Probably going to finish Rise of the Tomb Raider and then maybe Hellblade Senua's sacrifice before Horizon Zero Dawn 2 comes out. Haven't gotten Age of Empires 4 yet, so that's a possibility too.

Steam is having a big sale on tons of games if any of you are interested

Epic is doing their 15 days of free games. I am not sure how many days are left but some games have been pretty damn good.

They also have a great sale and unlimited $10 off coupons.

I got Metro Exodus and Borderlands 3 for $9.98 total. LOL

If you're into RPGs, I've been playing Tales of Arise and it's been pretty good. I'm about 75 hours into it but I like to do all the side missions and stuff.

Overwhelmingly Positive - highly recommend

Hollow Knight - best g'damn indie game ever and arguably overall; it is excellent, and incredible when you consider it was developed by three guys in Australia. $7.49

Dead Cells - the ultimate action roguelike side scroller. $14.99

Hob - indie adventure/platformer. Unique and interesting; pure adventure in that there is no dialogue or written guides - the gameplay tells the story (rather than exposition) $9.99

Hades - another fantastic action roguelike game with fantastic art style and cool Greek mythology premise $16.24

Ori (two titles) - Blind Forest is the first installment, Will of the Wisps is the second. Both are excellent. Former is $4.99, latter is $9.89.

Chill/stoner games (think Journey):

GRIS - this game is a work of art. From a game studio in Spain. It is like playing a watercolor painting. Absolutely beautiful game. $4.24

ABZU - fun chill game where you explore the ocean and uncover mysteries of Atlantis $6.99

RiME - adventure/exploration game, also out of Spain. Beautiful and atmospheric. $10.49

Journey - iconic atmospheric adventure game. $7.49

yep. I build those. Have built 3 so far. My latest project was a pedestal with all the joysticks, trackball, tron handle, light guns, etc.

Working on a virtual pinball cabinet now. Obsessed with it, actually. They are fun hobbies.

You seem to enjoy roguelikes/lites (my favorite category). It's similarish to slay the spire, but still different. Also, it's got some interesting other trappings. I suggest not spoiling yourself.

Holy cow! Deep Rock Galactic is free for PS+ users in January. Yall are in for a massive treat.
