Stan discussing Tyrone Adams - as Jake has either passed or is about to pass TA in the scoring ranks.
Ty Adams was a big time player for the Cats. |

don't like the slow starts lately, that can't happen in the tourney

that should be a technical for shooting after the whistle |
Hey Cat fans, I have a question. Is there any more news lately about Frank Martin and contract? I Googled and found some older article that said he signed a 5 year deal that takes him through 2011-12 season. Is this talk lately because he needs a raise or what?

Big Monday is KU/OU?
I'll get it started for them: [Voice of teen/emo angst] Is the Big East foul fest over yet? [/Voice of teen/emo angst] |

1975 last time the Cats won 5 consecutive roadies.

Frank proved yet again how much of a high school coach he is. After struggling in the first half and trailing for a good part of it, he didn't make any adjustments to dominate the second half.

"Warm Up The Tractor" |
I haven't gotten a response yet in any of the chats. I've posted this in every ESPN columnist chat for the last week or so:
Could you pass along a message to Bobby Knight. Tell him KSU fans weren't in the wrong to chant overrated at the Texas game. They were smart, scary smart. |

BTW, let me know the next time you cant get the game, Usually the slingbox is open... Today SureOz used it to watch the MU game... I have no problem letting you fans use it if you cant get the game... I can only support one at a time, but the video/sound quality is normally perfect. Even though I would rather poke holes in your tractor tires, I hate the feeling when I miss a KU game and hate to have others suffer as well.... |

As for Frank, he recruited kids outside of his district to play as near as I can tell. What I've always found unsettling about the entire situation is that right here, in this area, high schools (especially private schools) do it all the time. Only instead of being slimey or underhanded they operate under the guise of "giving a kid a chance" at a better education or something like that. I mean what kind of chance to go to college would a kid get if he were left in the KCMO school district? |

Now if only there was someway to make Duke and Purdue lose....
#5 Duke plays Tulsa and Virginia. :wank: #3 Purdue plays #14 Michigan State this week on Sunday. That'd be nice if Purdue dropped behind us. They also play Minnesota on Wednesday. #4 Syracuse plays #8 Villanova, but that upset may bite us in the ass, as I could see Syracuse staying above us and Villanova possibly jumping us. Syracuse also plays Providence on Tuesday. I'd like us to be as high as possible going in to Lawrence (duh) so we don't drop out of the 2 seed conversation. At 6, a loss might do that to us if we don't clean up in the big 12 tourney. But if we win in Lawrence........... yowzas. Tech and Mizzou first tho. Let's just power through this week, baby. |
One of the other teams vying for a 2 seed, Huggy's WVU, picked up another loss to a scrappy UConn. That can't hurt.
|
Here's a funny little factoid of the day for you wildcat fans to think about until KU wins again.
What if K-State wins out, KU loses out, and both finish tied? Who gets the #1 seed? They would literally have to flip a coin. KU and KSU would have the same record against the same teams in the entire conference, there would not be a multi-team tiebreaker, and they dont have "strength of victory" or "points scored/against" tiebreakers in basketball. |

The trophy hand-out last night at KU, I thought a bit tentative. What do they do when a team runs the table, and ties with KU interconference, band saw the thing in half?
"Here, guys, have the trophy to hold for a few weeks, until we saw it in half, 'cause the Cats caught up with you. After all, it's all interconference, and we like to pass out hardware, because Lew wanted our boys to touch it all first!" |

If two teams have the same record in league play regardless of h2h matchups, they both get a trophy.

Jake having a monster game. Lou having probably his nicest game of the year so far.

Gotta love Jake Pullen. Lou looks pretty good on the inside defense.
I'm a little concerned that we haven't opened up a can of whoopass for an entire game yet. I hope we can put together a great 40 minutes when it matters. And is it just me or does Denis look like someone just ran over his dog? |
Halftime:
KSU 39 TTU 29 Cut the TO's out and this game should be much better than the first half looked. |
